Dumb newbie question

Ok, I tried the find the answer to this myself with the search feature, but I couldn't find anything. (at least I tried, right samclemmons? ) Anyway, at the bottom of the page where it has what members are online right now, sometimes one of the names is in italics and has a dotted underline. What does that mean?

you can tell by placing your mouse on the person's name, it has mouseover text that shows you their status.
