Holy crap.
Has anyone ever ordered from them?

Never heard of them but a forum recommended them.


I went ahead and ordered some movies from them.

I wanted to test out the new HT set up I have and decided this was a great excuse to order some DVD's.
Ordered a calibration DVD
And a cple DTS-ES and DD-EX movies.


Holy fast shipping.
Ordered it yesterday shipped out the same day and already have a tracking number.
Should be here tomorrow according to UPS..

ALso any other HT Afficianado's? in the house?

If so what is your current setup?
And what do you use as eye candy when you have ppl over?

I've used DVDEmpire for years, going back to when it was Ken Crane's Laserdisk. Great company to deal with, not always the absolute lowest price but the service makes up for the difference.

As for HT I run a modified Toshiba SD-9200 with and SDI output into an HD-Leeza feeding a calibrated Electrohome 8501 onto a 106" screen. Full 7 channel surround with 7,000 watts of power. A stock photo (I have gloss black) of my fronts is here. 1600 watts to each bass side and 500 to the ribbon mid & tweeter. A crapload of other equipment is tied in too.

yep..used them for a bunch of stuff actually. good service and quick shipments.
i have an in expensive onkyo 780 7.1 setup for my HT and a sony 50" DLP setup. the onkyo is 1000w and pretty clear sounding for an inexpensive HT, the TV..well, the best HD picture i could find at that price point. and the harmony 880 rocks...best and easiest remote i have ever used and setup.

I had forgotten about Ken Crane! That's a blast from the past!

I have a Yamaha DSP-A1 with external amps driving JBL reference studio monitors in my system, with a 60" RPTV. I have a Panasonic XP50 DVD player, Tivo, and a bunch of other stuff I don't use too much anymore.

Now playing: my new Xbox 360!
