Dear customer,

Since ths founding of Padron Cigars, over forty-three years ago, our company has been built on a foundation of honesty, integrity, and hard work. We seek to establish relationships with vendors who share these values and have carefully selected authorized retailers that help maintain the prestige and integrity of the Padron brand.

Throughout the years, padron productshave been counterfeited on many occasions. We continuously combat attempts to counterfeit Padron cigars. We have gone to great lengths to protect our brand We value and guard the trust and loyalty you place on our products and brand. That is why we are aggressive in our efforts to ensure that you are purchasing genuine products of the highest quality. We have implemented and publicized anti- counterfeit measures. Fighting counterfeiting is an ongoing battle and we are continuously thinking of ways to protect our trademarks. The most recent effort has been the implementation of a barcode system for all Padron boxes of cigars. We are now applying barcodes to all our boxes. In order for these efforts to be effective, we need our customers to be informed and vigilante against possible counterfeiting. If you purchase Padron products over the internet or in a retail store, please assure yourself that the box you are purchasing is labeled with the factory applied barcode. If it is not, we cannot guarantee that you are purchasing an authentic Padron product.

With the growth of internet commerce, on-line vendors are now selling tobacco products. Some of these vendors are not authorized Padron retailers. It has been brought to our attention that boxes of cigars bearing the Padron trademark are being sold by unauthorized retailres over the internet. In all cases, the boxes do not contain the factory-applied barcode.

Several years ago we were faced the similar task of protecting our trademark and our customers from counterfeit products. We ask you to be wary of unscrupulous retailers who have gotten into this business for a quick buck. They seek to take advantage of our loyal customers and exploit the Padron brand without any regard for the sacrifices and hard work that went into buiding it. We need your help in stopping counterfeiting. If you want to confirm that you are purchasing from a Padron authorized retailer, if you purchase a box of Padron cigars and it is not labeled with the Padron barcode, or if know of retailers who are selling these unlabeled boxes please contact us at 800-453-5635 or e-mail us directly at info@padron.com.

Sincerely,

The Padron Family

All this typing with two fingers, time for two fingers of something else.

How do you suppose they are getting the bar codes on product that is already in a vendors inventory?

Padron has been putting bar codes on the boxes for about 6 months. They aren't using a traditional code though. Each box has a unique bar code. Now ,after reading that, it makes since. The bar codes are on the outside of the cello and inside on the bottom of the box (we have been tagging the shit out of these to get ready for the event).

I was about to mention how EASY it would be to serialize each box. Proctor and Gamble could serialize bars of soap if they wanted to, and without much cost.

edit: atrocious spelling!
