Elitist Bourgeois pass

What it is

There's nothing wrong with a little contradiction in life, and the Elitist Bourgeois pass is no exception. This is going to be a high-end pass, anything that can be picked easily at your local smoke shop need not apply (unless you happen to have one hell of a local smoke shop).

The participants

This is a closed pass; here's the final list of people invited into the pass, in pass order:

Fast4Dr - NY
DaveC - NY
alwayssmokin - TX
ads47 - IN
Shadow - WV
VSG_Smoker - VA
Oak - DC
Tony Bones - WA
Leebo8-9-8 - VA
moki - NY

ucmba - declined (but is generously contributing cigars to the pass)

The rules

The people I've invited here I have dealt with personally, and they know their chit about cigars, and have the cigars to play in this pass. The rules are simple: know exactly what you're taking before you take it, and replace it with something at least on par in terms of value/rarity. When in doubt, ask.

You're perfectly welcome to take a Cuban and put a Domestic, or vice versa, just keep in mind the golden rule above.

Please see the instructions included with the pass for specifics. I've also included addressed shipping labels, filled out DC# forms, baggies for the cigars, a sharpie, extra "pack" containers for additional cigars if needed... should be damn near everything.

All you'll need to supply are the cigars you put, and have the package insured.

The cigars

Here's the final cigar list!

The cigars in the pass are divided up into padded "packs" for convenience sake, and to protect the cigars. The packs aren't sealed, they are just holders; each cigar inside the pack is sealed in its own bag. On the top of each cigar bag, I've written the brand, name, and year (if known) of the cigar. On the bottom right of each cigar bag, I've written the cigar number.

All cigars have bands, unless noted to the contrary. I had to drop the idea of including the boxed cigars, and cut a few other of the larger cigars I'd intended to include, because they wouldn't fit. Without further ado, here are the starting cigars:

Pack A:

#01 ISOM Davidoff Haut Brion (1988)
#02 ISOM Davidoff #1 (El Laguito) (1990)
#03 ISOM Davidoff Chateau LaTour (1985)

Packs H & I are included for additional cigars, if needed. The box does close, but just barely -- you have to pull it tight then shut it with the Velcro strap.

** Generously donated to the pass by Ron (ucmba) -- thanks Ron!

The specifics

-- The pass will be sent out insured for obvious reasons; you will need to send it out insured as well, via US Postal Service Priority Mail

-- I'll include all the hardware with the pass: individual baggies, a pen, instruction & sign in/out sheets, labels, and so on and so forth. If you steal my pen, you die.

-- When you get the pass, post in the thread to let us know you have received it successfully

-- Post your puts and takes in the thread when you've gone through the pass

-- Post in the thread when you've sent the pass off, including a DC#, and PM the person who is about to receive the pass with the same information

-- Please note the brand, vitola, and cigar name for each put, as well as the year if you're aware of it. Banded cigars are preferred to non- or home-brewed banded cigars.

-- Proper packing materials will be included; please pack the pass carefully to ensure the cigars therein are not damaged. The tighter you pack things, the less likely they will bounce around and be damaged (but obviously don't pack them so tightly that it causes a problem)

-- Please check the pass out when you get it, charge up the humidifying elements if they need it, and so on and so forth

-- Please see the instructions included with the pass for specifics

-- Have fun...

Toaster,

What you do in your private life is your business (and the cops, and the church and John Ashcroft :) ) but why is your post so damn close to what Cigar_Girl posted before she edited it? Having a little fun with us? Want to explain?

This is my email notice of Cigar_Girls post:

AVB,

Cigar_Girl has just posted a reply to a topic that you have subscribed
to titled "Elitist Bourgeois pass".

"fun" is .... either tainted or just plain bizarre!!! :p :sign:

Seriously, looks like a fun pass... Sorry I wasnt invited to play :(
:sneaky:
Have a great time guys... Not that you need ME to tell you that.

Hey AVB, are you thinkin' what I am thinkin'? Maybe a case of split E-Personality? Hmmmm ;)

PB, I don't want to think about it at all. In The Corps we don't put up with cross-typers ......er dressers. Nevermind.

DaveWF worried about his pens being stolen once, too. ;) :p

No explanation is going to solve this, and this looks to be as bad as it could be, but I'll try the truth, and work on it from there ;)

I was using cigar_girl(s) laptop, and didn't realize she was signed in... :sign:
All I'm thankful for, is there are no hidden camera's around here to "see" me prance around or anything! :p

UHHHMMMMMMMM.................

That's OK. What you do in the privacy of your own home (as long as it does not affect your ability to function in society) is YOUR business AND is perfectly healthy in the realm of human sexuality and how you relate to it.

My sister-in-law is a shrink ad I've got a Behavioral Science degree. If you need to talk............ :p
