Last night I had the honor and privilege to represent CigarPass at the sneak preview of marcsheldon’s creatively named En Fuego Tobacco Shop.

En Fuego is strategically located at the entrance of a trendy new shopping village and marina on the shores of Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall, Texas and being one of the first shops to open, I think Mark may have set the standard for trendy here. The shop has an extremely visually appealing décor. I was shown the floor plan several months ago but it did not prepare me for what I saw when I stepped through the door and my attempt to describe it will not do it justice either.

At the entrance is the counter which displays a small selection of quality pipes and tobacco as well as a nice variety of lighters and other accessories. The wall behind the counter is filled with Scentier’s. To the right, just outside the window looking onto the village entrance are two tables for outdoor smoking and conversation. To the immediate right of the door is the lounge area. This is not a member’s only lounge; it’s open to everyone and feels very inviting. The lounge area offers wifi and has several high tables and a conversation pit situated beneath a large flat screen TV mounted on the wall. On the walls along the lounge you’ll find a wide selection of desktop humidors and to the rear are a large fire place and the entrance to the humidor.

Ahhhh, the humidor. Definitely the best part. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was that the humidor seemed larger than I expected and is very well stocked. First were the bundled cigars and a shelf of private label cigars with the stores logo on the band, very nice indeed. I noticed a few lines I was unfamiliar with and quite a few that I’ve been looking forward to trying. Then I turned to look at the opposing wall and my jaw hit the floor. In my head I’m shouting (with joy) “A brand new shop can’t get these lines! How’d he do it?!” I was looking at Graycliff, then Chateau Fuente, Hemingway (even a box of BTL’s that had already been thinned out a bit), and Don Carlos, then a nice selection of Davidoff, and the biggest variety of Padron x000’s, 1964’s and 1926’s (even a box of 40th anniversary!) that I’ve ever seen in person (though the Outlaws can’t be touched in that arena). So again, I’m in awe that Mark was able to pull that off. I can’t tell you how he did it but I will say that that it shows Mark’s commitment to making sure that his customers have the very best cigars available no matter what!

The evening was just fantastic; I even got to initiate a brand new smoker who came in. I helped Jaime select his first cigar and then directed him over to Mario as he rolled complimentary cigars for the guests. Jaime spent the next 2 hours learning about cigars from a master. Poor guy’s done for now!

Congratulations Mark, You’ve built a fantastic place and you should be proud. I can’t wait to move in!!!
