The same family that owns my race team also owns/owned the EOS winery in Paso Robles. They had their first annual "day at the races" with a showcase of their current race fleet at the facility. Well just after that press release they announced they were selling the winery, so it was now first and last occasion, I assume they received an offer they couldn't refuse, as they built and maintained the facility themselves for 20 years until now.

They do however still retain all their vineyards, and the vintages will obviously be the same for the next few years or longer unless the new owners change the blends/processes.

We were treated to a royal tour above and beyond the normal winery tours, and learned alot about wine. Even some experimental blends with some unorthodox "addivtives".

Many pics to come as this thread will be not safe for dialup users.

Lot's of new wineries in Paso, EOS has never been one of my favorites but there are a lot of folks that like their stuff. If I remember correctly it's one of those places that the bus tours like to visit as well.

The last time I did a tasting of Paso Wine's RN Estate Vineyard really stood out. I like their Rhone and Bordeaux varietals and their wines are more food friendly as well.

Edit: Did you say VW Days? Oh man, I can't wait to see pics ...... 2003 GTI 1.8T owner here. Have owned in the past: 1962 Ghia (totaled), 1958 Ghia (customized to a Cal look), Late 1958 Bug

All those nice oak barrels, what a shame to waste them on wine :sign:
