Dana Point cigar & wine

I HAVE NO AFFILIATION but wanted to give them a plug anyway.
The staff knows their stuff.
Anyhooo
I was shopping and picked up a couple of these on a suggestion. I think they were 8 bucks and change. Can't really remember and a simple google search provides nothing on this particular vitola.
I think it is a house brand for these guys.
Here goes the review.
Cigar: Esteban Carreras Habano
Wrapper: Maduro I think
Size: 5.5 X 52
Drink: Johnny Walker Red on the rocks
Setting: back patio nice January evening about 60 degrees. (God I love California)
Photos are shot with my iPhone.
Inspection revealed very nice firm construction. Very shiny and dark.
I went with my trusty V cut
Toasted the foot lightly then she lit and the first few puffs were huge volumes of pure white smoke.
Right from the start I was getting leather and oak. Beautiful white smoke coming out.
A few minutes in the cigar started to burn a little uneven so I touched it up.
8 minutes in and I can feel a slight nicotine buzz. Good thing I have a full tummy
Touched up at 9:06
Life is good
I am noticing a very strong flavor but remarkably smooth.
Its holding the original ash nicely.
9:12 I set the cigar down to take a sip of whiskey and the ash fell
This cigar has developed quite the creamy finish. Man is it ever strong but so smooth. I am staying the course. I really like this cigar so far.
Preparing to go "Beyond The Band"
9:30 I t is starting to get a little uneven burn again and a little acidic.
Went ahead and touched up and purged.
After the purge it is smoking like new again.
Big volumes of pure white creamy smoke.
For being such a strong cigar it sure is smooth.
9:48 I am starting the nubbing process.
Whiskey was a great choice to accompany this. It really cleanses the pallet.
Laid down at 9:59 PM
Starting to burn my lips.
This cigar stayed the same most all the way through. I feel this is a great smoke and will be getting a box.
