Not sure if this is the right part of the forum for this topic, so I apologize if it isn't...

So my wife and I just got back from a European vacation. We visited London, Paris, Burgundy, Cannes, Nice, Monte Carlo, Pisa, Florence, Venice, and Rome (2 weeks, all by bus). I wanted to make a couple of visits to cigar shops while we were on the trip, but of course I was limited by the Mrs. ;)

- We stopped at James J. Fox Cigar Merchants of London (what I understand to be the oldest cigar shop in the world).
- Then 2 doors down from there we stopped at Davidoff's of London.
- Had to browse through the J.J. Fox cigar boutique in Harrod's (a box of matches and punch cost me almost 10 Euros)
- In Switzerland we hit up the original Davidoff store in Geneva (wanted to buy an ashtray, but their cheapest was 200 Euros)

We also saw the storefront of a very old (18th-19th Century) cigar shop or factory in old London that has now been made into apartments.

So my question is: Did I miss anything? Any other landmarks or points of interest to add to our next trip?

Oh, I also smoked my first ISOM, which I purchased at JJ Fox, an H. Upmann p.corona which I enjoyed on the boat ride from Dover to Calais.

Don't forget the Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, The British Museum, Lloyds of London, London Eye, Tower Bridge, etc, etc.

LOL! Perhaps I should have mentioned that in addition to cigar shopping we DID visit the tourist sites. ;) It was a guided tour, after all.

So, the good life is definitely not cheap!

Yep, especially in London. Tabacco have some astronomic prices there.

You can say that again! I felt like I needed a credit application just to browse through Davidoff's!

I thought Europe was expensive the last couple of times I was there (1999 and 2000), but now with the dollor weak and the euro strong it was much worse.

London has always been expensive. You get used to it. But with the new smoking ban sweeping all across the UK and will slowly work towards Europe, it will not be as fun any more. :(
