The Shorter Half has been looking for a new car for some while and had settled down to the XC 90 form Volvo. For those who aren't aquanted with Volvo, its their SUV. Pretty freaking sweet ride. Anyway, we have been looking around and test-drivng both the XC-90 and the dealerships who are looking to off-load them. We happened to be down at the In'Law's place this weekend (For the first of 3 Thanksgivings- got to love being newly weds!) and found a dealer we liked, a car we liked and a price we liked. Done deal, we are the new owners of a AWD, 3.2 L V6 Volvo XC90, with a sun-roof! We gave some really good people (hey, I'd rather do that then the paranoid and un-personable folks in Alexandria or Rockville) our money and it was definatly within budget. After looking at the V8 and the V6 models, the difference in power is not big enough to justify the bigger payments. Our car is Certified Pre-Ownered which happens to come with a amazing warranty- better then ones on new Volvos. Most importantly, the wife loves it, it "sparkles". So looks like I'm driving home solo tomorrow.

You know you want to!

Congrats! Getting a new car is always fun. Especially if it's exactly what you were looking for and at the price you wanted.

Congrats on the purchase. You also gotta love how safe them Volvos are. Peace of mind has no price.
What color did she end up with?

Volvos are nice! New toys are always fun, even if they come with payments.

I've been thinking about getting a second car once my stang is paid off in the next 2 years. And those s40s got my eye. I like the look they've got, and Im thinking about getting a nice commuter so I can start working on the stang.

ok, so i forgot to take pictures this morning, and quite frankly, i really do not see myself doing it in the near future. however, i would highly recommend going to volvo's website and looking at the XC-90 they have there, ours is VERY similar. As for the color, its titanian grey on the outside and beigh on the inside.

FYI, we have the XC90 3.2 R-Design if you want to look at the spec's, with just about every option availible. My favorite feature is how the seats are all set up. I'd buy it just for that!

Very nice. I like the safety standards they have with Volvo.
The AWD will be helpful in the snow.

I really do like station wagons. Storage, low to the ground and better gas mileage than trucks.

Good buy.
