Facebook Marketplace....how does it work?

Have you tried this place?

Formerly the sears outlet store, scratch and dent or new open box for a considerable discount.
This was exciting at first! I thought, shit, I will have a fridge by end of day........but nay-nay! I clicked to shop the Akron store and saw a huge selection!...........Only problem was, every fridge I selected was from another store. Not quite sure why they wanted me to select the Akron store?

X2 on the yeti!

Ah yes, it has you select the closest store to your location I believe. If it's not by you it can be delivered for a fee.

I'm not a fan of the way the inventory is listed either. But if it helps I'm in the Toledo area and have a truck. I could help with delivery if you can wait till this Monday. That way you can check out the stores inventory from north Ohio.

I really appreciate that! I have a truck, I just can't find what I want.

Sorry to hear about your refrigerator mishap, but yay for good timing! Facebook Marketplace can be a bit confusing at first, but I gotchu! When listings mention $20 USPS shipping, they're likely talking about smaller items that can be shipped like regular mail. USPS does handle some shipping beyond letters! For bigger stuff like fridges, it's best to look for local listings where you can pick up the item yourself. This way, you can check it out firsthand and make sure it's in good working condition before making a deal.

Thank God I finally got an answer!

I have spent $2000 on ice in the last two years!

I know my reply is a bit late, but I’d like to give my two cents. First off, I'd recommend sticking to local listings on Facebook Marketplace – the whole $20 USPS shipping thing sounds a bit fishy for a fridge. It's likely some kind of mistake. It's much safer to deal with local sellers so you can check out the item in person. Also, make sure you ask the seller about their return or exchange policy in case it doesn't work properly when it arrives. It's always good to have that sorted out upfront. On a related note, I'm actually thinking about getting into the Marketplace game myself – planning to buy an ig account to engage in local sales. Seems like a cool way to connect with buyers nearby.

If you are here for all things cigar, go to the New member Introduction thread and introduce yourself.

Long time reader first time responder to this thread. I would like to say that Facebook market place is a good way to do business, but like most business on the internet there are scammers. I would avoid any listing that is out of your area. The 20 dollar shipping is either a total scam or someone who has no idea how much actual shipping is. Secondly I would say I found this message finds in you in time, and it can help you in your search for a new fridge. Fridges, like most items these days are a costly proposition. But with a little time and effort ones can be found for a good deal.
