So My mom and dad bought a laptop and it was supposed to be delivered to my house yesterday (since I was going to be home). I was watching out for it all day, even checked the door step before I went to bed about 10ish last night, no package.

I get up this morning and decide to look at the tracking number, thinking that maybe the FedEX driver just ran out of time and bought the package back to the warehouse for delivery today. Nope, tracking shows the laptop was delivered last night at 9:29 PM, and left at the front door.

I called them today and talked to a really nice lady that has started the claim process, which I guess starts with talking to the delivery driver. It's possible that the laptop was delivered to the wrong address, which is what I hope happened. Now I just have to wait the 24-48 hours for the claim person to get in touch with the driver to find out what happened.

I just hope they get it sorted out soon. I am sure that things get REALLY crazy around this time especially for delivery drivers.

I'm not trying to bag on the driver, or FedEX, just wanted to vent some frustration.

Make sure there isn't another similar address that they might've delivered to. I had some problems with that earlier this year when they started delivering to a street versus a road of the same name.

You know, I get a lot of my cigars via UPS, and I think they do a pretty good job. I will admit, most of the time when they deliver, I am not home. But sometimes I am, and they never knock or ring the doorbell, they just assume I am not home, and leave the package beside the door in plain view. Such a simple courtesy to at least attempt to let me know they have arrived. :(

A couple of weeks ago I was expecting a package from FedEx. I typically get my packages from them between 1 and 2 pm, and by late afternoon when the package still hadn't arrived, I checked the tracking. To my surprise it's status was 'delivered', so I called FedEx and found out it was delivered to a neighbor. The FedEx drivers know who I am, and thought this was really strange (plus there are only three houses on my street and I'm the only one that has a visible address from the street). I go over to my neighbor to get the package, and the package is inside a big plastic bag. The package itself was completely soaked and falling apart - like it fell into a lake or something. I've had no problems with FedEx in the past, but I couldn't help but feel that the package was delivered to my neighbor to prevent me from refusing delivery.

Hope your issue is just a simple mix-up.

I hope it was just a mix-up and nothing like that on mine. I was extremely surprised when I looked at the tracking information this morning and saw that the package was "delivered" at 9:29PM. Even for a really late run 9:29PM sounds a bit out there, even during the holiday season.

I will be talking to my neighbors this afternoon to see if it showed up at their house on accident.

I hope it was a mix-up too, Jeff. I would be stressing because it's a laptop and anyone can use those.

Since I'm hardly home when USPS, FedEx, or UPS come by, I've learned to keep some homemade benches by the front door corner and they all know to leave it tucked away from street view for me.

.... and they all know to leave it tucked away from street view for me.

When I bought my first home 2 yrs ago, I purposely went out of my way to get to know my UPS,FedEx, & Mail carriers... By developing a simple relationship, possibly remembering their name, will really go a long way. It really helps you have a sense of ease with your packages. Especially with all the stresses of the holiday season, and O.T. hrs that they put in - some drivers may forget that there are actual objects in those boxes. My UPS driver is great, and even does "drive by apple picking" off my roadside apple tree and veggies from the garden when in season. He is also very aware that sometimes, those boxes have valuable stogies in them. Im sure he is very careful on how/where he places them, even making sure the door is shut firmly upon leaving. . . Making sure your delivery drivers know where to put your packages is a must, and most are more than happy to oblige with a "backdoor" or "garage door" or even "tucked behind the benches".

Sorry to hear of your situation, and I hope this all works out in your favor. 9:30 PM does sound a little weird ?

I had an Amazon Kindle delivered to my house the other day. Was clearly labeled for 706 and not 705. FedEX.... Good thing we're in a little town where people still have courtesy and morals. My neighbor was very pleased when I delivered it to her!

Yea street and road in Texas is very important...LOL We got lucky that day!

Good luck.

Update: FedEX found the package and got it delivered to me yesterday. I guess it was accidentally delivered to the incorrect address, they picked it up and got it to me asap. The really nice thing is that the package wasn't opened, as the person it was delivered to knew it wasn't for them.

Nice to see there are still good people around when these things happen, especially during this time of year. I know I would have gone out of my way to make sure the correct person got a package if it was delivered to me accidentally, unfortunately there are a lot of people out there that would just assume that they were getting something for free and wouldn't think twice about it.
