I had my first WOAM this past Saturday. It was delicious. It got better each and every puff. I burned my damn fingers on the nub...well worth it. I couldn't get over how good the after taste was. I just kept licking my lips afterwords. I didn't want to eat or drink anything for a while either. I am finding out that the figurado shape tends to provide a more complex smoke. I have had a few Gurkha Centurians that have the same effect. (Many good cigars I have smoked are complex...but this shape seems to intensify the complexity....more drastic changes)

I had my first opus x a week before. It was a belicoso. It was good, but it left a strong copper taste on my palate for the whole 2nd half of the smoke. This really turned me off to the cigar. Anyone else get this? I read in other reviews on this site that you need to age them for 2 years before they are good....I don't know.

The B&M near my house has a really good stock of AF stuff. This is where the two sticks above were found. He has many rare Opus X's too. My only problem is that the prices seem a little out of line. I paid $17 for the WOAM & $22 for the Opus X belicoso. He has some rare Opus X's in there for $75! I was willing to pay it for a single stogie to try them...but to stock up on them at that price is a different story. Is this typical for hard to find sticks?? Or is this why he has such a good stock of the rare stuff? (I mean he had a box & a half of the WOAMs)

It's not surprise that he still has them in stock at those prices. While I don't mind paying a buck over MSRP, those prices are crazy. To me, that owner is taking advantage of the consumer, and does not show much character.

Go to the cigar lounge a look up MMM's Anejo/Opus reference thread. It's pinned near the top. This will give you a good idea of what you should be paying around for MSRP.

BTW..........Does anyone know if these prices are current as of Jan. 1st 2009?

I do not know how to find this out. I would assume so only by the selection of cigars he has. He does have quite a selection...VSG, Padron Ann.

You'll find them here for close to MSRP, WOAM is somewhere around $7.35, they are one of my favs but I wouldn't dare spend $17 for one even if it was the last one ever made.
