Well, Here I sit this morning at home due to a slight mishap the other night. Wednesday evening while playing with my youngest daughter (five years old) I sprained my ankle something fierce. Th Doc said it is one of the worst she has ever seen. So here I am with my cane, and a Western Walker (Big plastic walking boot/brace) for at least a week. Good thing is I can work from home, as the doc said no stairs for at least 7 days.

The actual mishap occurred after my daughter said her Kung-FU was stronger than mine, and proceeded to say "bring it old man" while waiving me forward with her fingers. Next thing I know, my left foot slips out from underneath me when I step on the dogs blanket on a hardwood floor, and when I go to correct, I seriously roll my right ankle.

The only good part about the accident is this. As soon as I go down, my daughter doesn't even hesitate. What I can only describe as a very loud Xena Warrior Princess scream comes from her and she is on me, delivering her best Kung-Fu ever. As she finishes the smack smack down on her old man, she gets off and says to me, "I told you my Kung-Fu was stronger."

All my wife could say was "And you wonder where she gets it?" :whistling: And then she had to mention the upcoming Vegas trip in a week and give me a few scolding glances. :(

Time for a smoke!

Dude i am sorry you got hurt but that had to be the funniest site ever. i just picture your child on top of you like she just climbed a mountain or the rocky stairs and saying the kung fu line.
hope you feel a little better by vegas

That's a great story. My boys ad I wrestle alot. My 5 yo likes to say "Your going down Tubby"

So I gues her Kung-Fu was stronger than her old mans. Just kidding. Hopefully you heal up quickly.

Heal up quick! :)

Thats the kinda story that winning funniest home videos are made of though! hehe

That is pretty funny. That's one of those things you and she will be laughing about 20 years from now.

That sounds like a candidate for America's Funniest Videos.

Hope you get better soon.

I learned a big lesson don’t trust them, something similar happen to me my nephew (6yr old at the time) said lets box so I get on my knees put hands up get distracted and he POPs me right in the eye, had a shiner for week. :D

So essentially your daughter kicked your arse. This is why I don't have kids, my ego is too fragile to handle that kind of humiliation.

Hope you heal quickly and and painlessly.

Sorry you're laid up but the story is classic. In a few years she, like all children, will see you as infallible but for now, I can think of several funny things:

1. That little girl will honestly believe that she can whoop your butt
2. She is probably telling everyone at her school/pre-school that she put her daddy in the hospital
3. When you get back on your feet and go to school, to pick her up, all the little kids will look at you like "huh.....he doesn't look like a wimp" :D

You think you slipped. I'm guessing she has mastered her chi to the point of projecting it out from her body.

Bill I hope you heal fast for Vegas!

I don't care who you that is some funny $hit! I would have loved to seen your daughter kicking your butt! ROFL

XR,

I am truly sorry for your pain, I have been down that road with my kids as well (at least mine are boys though.

I hope you recover in time for Vegas.

But look on the bright side, at least you were not super-man punched during a flag football game by a "maybe" ranger.

Tim

Nice. I hope you heal up soon. You must bring pictures to SJ's when CigarStone comes this month so that we can all laugh at you.
