My wife is a great cook, everything is from scratch. We found a great deal on red bell peppers. The cleaning and quartering by hand is find, but we want to chop them, bag them and freeze them for later use.

We have a four blade Cuisinart, that did more damage than good.

Anyone hear in the known what a decent foodprocessor would be that won't destroy a bell pepper and do the job properly?

Appreciate any input.

With a food processor, it really depends what size dice/cut you want. I don't use one for less than a superfine dice, and rarely at that.

My advice, if you aren't going to hand cut, is a "slap chop" type product.

Food processors aren't for delicate work.

I was going to sugest the slap chop as well. Some will laugh at this product but it is great I have 2 and use them all the time.... Not to be confused with the "Jack Chop" If your from or know anyone from MA you'll love this!

I love this video because its so true it reminds me of my cousins and uncles. They all talk just like this. Sadly I find it rubbing off in me every once and awhile. Some days I miss it but boy I'm glad to be out of the city.

Thanks to all. Funny, I have a slap n chop in the cupboard, but because we never use it, it doesn't exist. Tried it last night, what is interesting is that the pepper has a pretty decent skin on it, and the chopper only does an OK job. On the meat part of the pepper it kicks butt.

Anyway, thanks to all for comments.

I agree with Yojimbo. My vote is learn some basic knife skills so it goes quick. A decent knife is the cheapest food processor.

I'll bet you got the pretty loooking Cuisinart. Should have got the ugly industrial looking one.
