My wife has a high school friend who teaches deaf students at Saint Louis University.

One of her students is the sibling of Jenna Fischer who plays the receptionist on the show "Pam". Well my wife was telling her how much I love the show and that she TiVos them for me and sends them out here.

So her friend coordinated for a little gift for me.

Just thought it was pretty cool.

Nice gesture on their part! You shouldn't be watching so much TV over there, it cuts into your smoking time :sign:

Once you "tivo" a show, how do you send it somewhere?

We have a DVR provided (for a fee) by the local cable company...I'm pretty sure I can't get anything I've recorded off of it for sending somewhere...

Just curious.

Ours has a built in DVD burner

jgohlke,

Depending on the DVR you can record to your computer. When we first got ours I did an internet search and came up with the instructions and they actually worked. Bad thing is that it records in real time minute for minute, an hour show will take an hour to record to your computer. Not at all like drag and drop.

My dvr was a motorola, it wasn't real hard, you had to download some software (free) and follow the directions, I was doing it to put some tv programs on psp for the road.

I haven't seen the US version yet although I'm betting with Steve Carell in the boss role it's a hoot. I really enjoyed the original (UK) version. You should check it out if you get a chance. It's one of those rare shows that gets funnier every time you watch it.
