Will it never end???

Yeah, it's still a-comin' down. The lawn furniture has disappeared.

I hope this isn't going to be a repeat of the winter of '96. Here in Hungry Horse, we had a total snowfall that year of 18 feet, with 6 feet on the ground most of the time. We had canyons through the year where the paths normally were. The eaves of the house were level with the top of the snow. When I cleaned off the roof of the shed, I had to throw snow UP.

But, to be fair, that was an unusual winter. We've also had winters with a total snowfall of maybe an inch, so it does balance out over time.

Anybody want to play in the snow? ? ? ? ? :)

When I lived in Crested Butte, we prayed for snow

Nothing like being in the hot tub while it snows.

It seems to have stopped -- for now, at least. :D

Last spring, we bought one of those assemble-ot-yourself gazebos from Wal-Mart (but Home Depot had 'em too) and enjoyed it all summer and fall. About the time we figured to take the top down for the winter, my wife threw her back out and was out of action for a week. Well, it had taken three people to get the thing up there, so we figured that I had no chance of doing it alone. So, it didn't get done. Then, we finally figured we'd have the time to do that . . . . this weekend.

We went out there today to knock the snow off the top of that thing for the second time, and noticed that the whole roof was showing signs of rapidly approaching doom and as one roof brace had already folded, we figured maybe we better try to get that top of some other way. We did. It took a couple of hours, but one person could have done it! If we'd figured that out last month, we would have avoided the little bit of damage it took.

I think next spring, we'll build a permanent one out of wood, with lots of windows, a door, insulated and heated for winter and summer use!!!!

I love Monana, but the winters could be shorter . . . .

And people wonder why we live in Florida. :D

I called my sister yesterday just so she could gloat. She lives in Holiday, FL. She enjoyed herself immensely and really rubbed it in. They moved from Connecticut some years ago so they wouldn't have to deal with the snow.

I dunno. They traded snow for hurricanes . . . good or bad??

I think I'll opt for Texas or New Mexico. Then all I have to worry about is drought.

Cheers!
