Gotta love them sump pumps!! LMAO

Question: What keeps the water from returning in the future after building in that spot? Do you just fill it in with a dense type of clay/rock? I dunno much about foundations.
I lived in Central Florida for many years and we continue to have problems with sink holes. Then again, most of the area was swamp back in the day of developing. Also looks like you have clay as oppesed to plain old dirt here. Just curious.

Most of the water was actual rain water or run-off. We had a tremendous rainfall the night before I took this picture. I'm sure some of the water was ground water, but most was form the sky. I'll be putting drain tiles around the perimeter and a sump pump in one corner that will pump any water that does happen to work it's way in out to a drainage ditch. The foundation walls will also be waterproofed on the outside. But, if we have rains like we had this year again, we will be lucky to not have some water in the basement.

I'm still trying to decide if I need higher ceilings so you can walk around the house, Bro! LMAO

That was more like a pond!

That's a pretty deep foundation, what are you building, a highrise? LMAO :sign:

Lee, that is the hole for the basement Walk In Humi, silly!
Matt has to have somewhere to put all them smokes man!

Leebo...8' walls in the basement. I think it's just an illusion. LOL As soon as the walls go up that baby is gonna shrink like a ____ in a cold swimming pool. LOL

Actually PB, the walk-in will be right near the front left of that picture. :)

Matt, is that my room right next to the walkin thats near the front left of that picture? :sneaky: Be sure to make it an adjoining room.....LOL! :D

Matt, I'm right handy with a hammer, I have alot of other cool tools! Need any weekend help? You can pay in smokes!

LMAO :sign:

Way to dig up an ancient thread.

How in the hell was this even found...just to only comment, "nice pictures?" :sign: :sign: Kinda makes it sound like you just stumbled across it and provided commentary. But in my time here....I don't recall ever "just stumbling" across a 5 year old thread.

I "just stumble" across pics of naked/semi-naked chicks all the time...but old thread? Nah...

With the new google search box, I'm finding a lot more old threads when I search because they don't seem to be sorted by date anymore. What really pisses me off is when I search a cigar name, read a post about some great price on it and get all excited, then realize the post is three years old.

Pretty cool that you revived this one at this time. It was about 5 years ago today that I was sitting on the edge of a big hole in the ground wondering what I got myself into. Today, I was in almost the same spot, with all my belongings around me, watching one of the kids play the drums, and wondering the same exact thing. LOL!

Good one Matt.

actually, I was just messing around one day and went to the very beginning of the site threads in the lobby and started reading. The beginning of the time line if you will...kinda interesting to do sometimes.
