Conclusion - This cigar was fantastic. This cigar had about 5 years of age on it. Great flavor from beginning to end. The thing is so old the band was oxidized.

I have a few Opus from 2002 and 2003, 7 and 6 years old respectively. None of them have oxidized bands from"aging" so something else is at play here. In fact, I had a 2003 Opus Petite Lancero today, and while the band might have been slightly yellowed-out, the gold leaf was definitely present.

Either it was fake, or had some water damage. Most likely the ladder of the two after referencing Moki's site.

Regardless, if Cigar Buff enjoyed it, that's all that matters.
