It can if Germans keep their head in the sand. Your welfare system is unaffordable: unemployment is too high, labor laws are too rigid, your economy is languishing. Stop these disingenuous band-aid "fixes" and address the problem... or it will indeed get worse... slowly, and painfully.

I have a better but undoable solution instead...

Put the wall back up and build it another 20 meters higher, and drop out of the European union and give the Germans the DM back.

The welfare system has changed alot in the last few years, unemployment will only get worse ascheap labor from the newer European union states take German jobs. The cost of living doubled and our income was halved when the Euro was introduced. So "bandaids" is just about all the weak politicians are capable of any more, and over all over it looms the new Nazi party.
