I'd like to see how you came up with that but we are actually both wrong.
Since 0C starts at 32F the correct delineation would be 100C=180F (180 +32 = 212) the constant boiling point of water at sea level. So 1C would equal 1.8F and .7C would therefore equal 1.26F
Some of you folks have no math skills at all :0
100C = 212F so 1C =2.12F and that means .7C is equal to 1.48F Average global temperature has gone up about 1.5 degrees if your information is correct.
Actually, that is also incorrect. 1 C is the same as 1.26 degrees F.
No, I don't think I'm wrong.
The change in energy from 0C to .7C is equivalent to the change in energy between 32F and 33.26 F. The change in energy from -40C to -39.3C is the same as the change in energy between -40F to -38.74F. Therefore, a change in .7C is a change of 1.26F.
Regardless, the point is that it's horribly, horribly wrong to make arguments about anything when you don't have a clue as to what you're arguing. So, if you are making statements like "Scientists claim that the Earth's temp has changed .7C in the past 125yrs, that means the temp has changed 33F...", you shouldn't be arguing either for or against global warming. You should accept the expert consensus, which overwhelmingly states that man's extra "contributions" to the atmosphere are causing significant, unprecedented change. And this change, unchecked, could result in a global crisis. (to clarify, AVB never made that argument)
