Just wondering if there are any golfers out there. Im not as new to golf as I am cigars. If any others out there, whats your preference of equipment(Clubs, balls, nice courses)?

im a big golfer and the best products by far is ping. weve been around for over 80 years and know what were doing. there are other good companies out there, but we are the choice of clubs for 3 out of 7 pga tour players. we are not only the top golf company in the world but we wont be undersold.....

alright dude..i couldnt resist. stick around, take your kicks to the groin and enjoy yourself here.

go to golf smith and hit everything,,, all personal preference. Personally, I think it's better to spend money on lessons than expensive clubs.

Love to golf.

Currently swinging some 845 oversized with Callaway woods. Love them. Not real partial to any specific ball, but that last ones I was hitting were the Mojo's, just trying them out.

TFF

I golf once in awhile and the clubs I have is from the 1950's. Its fun to go out to the course and people seeing ya swinging old clubs. :D

I golf at least twice a month if lucky, more if i can.. Love taylor made clubs but as stated before me It is personal to person what they like to swing.. My 2 cents If you in cally call me up we could play..

Ive been wearing my cup for the past 2 days :0

I have a crappy set of Brand name deleted. But I do want to move up to the 2 aforementioned brands here when I improve. I am taking lessons and I never realized Golf is as strenuous when you're just learning. Stance, propper address, zip code + 4 (Just seeing if youre paying attention :p). That, or im really out of shape.. Or a combo of both

Gotta love the Tommy Armor 845's, I've been swinging a set of these things for about 5 years now. Still shooting in the high 90's, but its all about the beer and cigars isn't it? Now pool, thats a game I enjoy a little more(once again all about the beer and cigars). One pocket, stright, 9 ball, it's all fun. Rack em'

Had my first lesson last week and another one scheduled for tomorrow. I'll be playing in a scramble (my first time on a golf course) this weekend. Can't wait!

Love everything about the game. Play whenever I can in fact live on the course literally! Golf is one game that the more you know the more frustrating it can be. But unless your making a living out of it like Tiger than go out and enjoy. As long as your hitting the ball forward your doing fine.

Clubs are a personal preference. I owned a set of Pings for over 20 years and just recently switched to Clevelands why? They felt the best after hitting 5 or 6 different brands. Has it changed my game? No I still duff a chip, shank a drive but no matter what happens I am out in the open taking in the sights enjoying a smoke and my buddies who are playing with me.

Ball of choice? What ever Costco is carrying at the time I'm out of golf balls. But enjoy the feel of the Callaway Warbird.

Best Advice - Find a good local municipal pro who can get you started right. Should be cheaper than you local "Club Pro" Other piece of advice don't take it too seriously.

Love the tourney season and the scramble format. Steve good luck on your first round on the course.,,,

I play as much as possible but not enough (the Bride says I play wayyyyyyyy too often). I use Ping I3 blades 4-LW, TM Rescue club, Cobra 3W and a have 2 drivers, a TM R5 and a Cobra SZ440 and I have an Oddsey putter. I prefer Pro V balls that hurt me on drives and long irons, but love 'em anywhere with-in 150 yds of the pin, which is where the vast majority of your shots are.

I'm an 11.8 HDP Factor, and I stand on the "RIGHT" side of the ball!! :p

I live right next to a golf course and my landlord is a PGA official... I get tickets to the Buick Open at Torrey Pines every year, its fun... But turns out I'm terrible at golf hehe

Yeah, it can be a lot, especially if you take as many strokes as I do! :p

I'm horrible and driving and the long game but I'm getting better at chipping and green-side shots.

Love the game next to baseball and basketball. especially with a nice cigar and blue sky in 70degree weather with the buds. nothing beats it. My uncle who is a trainer set me up with a nice set of imitation callaways and Nike driver but I can't hit a driver for crap. irons I'm very consistent. Wish I could play more but now that I moved recently, there's no courses close by. sucks :(

Okay BigV clear out the sleeper sofa and please get some extra tickets for the week of the Buick from your neighbor, we'll all be down for next years tournament.

LMAO

Love the game...do not get to play nearly enough. My bag consists of a mixed bunch of clubs. My irons are Cleveland CG2, my wedges are Cleveland CG10, my fairway metals are Callaway Big Bertha 2, my driver is a Cobra, my putter is a Scotty Cameron Pro Platinum. My personal choice of ball is Titleist Pro V1X.

If anyone is ever in northeast Ohio...look me up, I would love to play and enjoy a few cigars.

There is no best brand of club period. The best club is the one thats suited to your game allowing you to maximize your good shots and reduce mistakes on off center shots.

Golf has been my passion since I was single digit years of age, usually play 4-5 times a week. Motorcycling has taken it's time away from the range, but still heading out tomorrow to play Whistling Straights in Kohler (actually Haven) WI, that's where they had the PGA champ a couple years back, phenominal course.

Oh, I love this course!

I agree with the calls that clubs are about personal preference and whatever feels best. I myself love the feel of Pings. Something strikes my fancy about clubs that are 10-15 years old and still have value. Used to swing the original Ping Zing Irons, now play with Ping Eye 2's. If you have a "second swing" or any reputable second hand golf store in the area, I would also check that out. There is no harm in scouting out used gear. Some of my closest friends buy equipment for the season, then trade it in. You can get some great deals on slightly used clubs. Also, allows you to enter at a price point that would be out of the picture if you only considered new clubs. For example, new Ping Irons would run you at least $500, new, however, you probably could pick up a used set of irons for $200-300 if you like the feel of Pings.

Had to contribute on this thread. Leaving tomorrow morning to go on my annual golf weekend with my Father and two childhood buddies. Needless to say, all I can think about today is golf.

the 2nd swing in charlotte is a complete ripoff. The only thing Ive found them good for is demoing clubs. Find a website like this that is geared towards towards golf. You will find much better deals. Ive purchased and traded a few things here, http://www.freegolfinfo.com/index.aspx

I play mizuno mx-20 irons, Ping g2 driver, odyssey 2 ball putter and maltby wedges. Im actually down a wedge due to an unfortunate accident with one of my wedges not hitting the ball like I wanted it. :whistling:
