The man made some great music, and no doubt some the the most difficult. His musical tree sounds like a Who's Who of the 60's through the 80's. We used to have Zappa parties back in the day, although he certainly wouldn't have approved of our methods of music enhancement. I had the pleasure of seeing him in concert 3 times in the late 70's early 80's at IL State, UofI and SIU. He stopped into a party across the street from the IL Sate arena after the concert. As luck would have it, we had just stumbled out of the party to find out way back to our friends dorm over at IL Wesleyan. One of my best friends was still there and had a brief chat with him. My buddy said he was pretty much a jerk, but that's kind of common knowledge.
