I have a cigar story to share from today!

So, first a little background. My employment for the last several years has been as a Department Manager for a Bed Bath and Beyond; not the most manly of places, but there are plenty of nice ladies to look at and the pay is good.

Anyway, so a guy came into the store this evening in a full suit, and said he was redoing his house for his wife for Christmas, and was replacing everything...

...he wasn't kidding, he ended up (checked the ticket later (absolutely no BS in this number!)) spending about $9,800 in one trip, but this isn't our story.

The real story is that from the second he walked in, he was chomping on an unlit and unbanded cigar! I was the one to escort the guy around the store and show him what the nicest things were and etc. (he wanted only the best, of course). Before he left, I asked him what his stick was, and he smiled and simply stated 'ISOM'. I laughed as I understood, he asked if I smoked and I said I was somewhat new at cigars. He shook my hand and handed me this, and said it was my tip for being his escort!

I don't ever get tips as a retail servant, but this was a surprise!

And they lived happily ever after....at least after a while in the humi! Fin

You're welcome.

Very nice of him.
I wish I would get tips like that.
Enjoy it,it is one of my favorite cigars.

I agree with mrtapes. They are a pretty enjoyable smoke. Hopefully you'll agree.

Just wondering...what's the price tag say at the bottom of the tubo? It almost looks like an American monetary price tag (would be a no-no). Just curious. Great TIP....Great SMOKE!

It says "Mex$18 75", so I take that as 18.75 pesos. Hopefully this guy didn't get my hopes up and give me a fake. Any tips on what to look for, I'm not knowledgeable with ISOMs.

I also noticed the band isn't attached to the actual cigar and could be slid off -- but it also seems to be pretty old..?

Hope I didn't get my hoped up just to have him mess with me.. :(

What do you mean the label isn't attached to the cigar?
The picture you show has all the labels intact.

I think he means the band is loose, something that is pretty common after a cigar has rested for a little while. That's what I took it to mean from the "and could be slid right off."

Indeed this is correct.

I doubt he was messing with you, why would someone carry around a bunch of fakes unless he thought they were legit.

Smoke it.... if it tastes like a donkey's ass, probably fake, otherwise
