Got hurt at work today

Huh?

I pulled my back today, I'm "borrowing" some of my mom's Tylenol 3. Did they give you anything good?

That explains a few things.

Is that not like a nerve in one's back? The "Thoracic" that is?

maybe I'm thinking of the "Phsyatic" or something...been a while...

Hi Matty,
From what I can Google on a "Thoracic strain", it is a neck or back injury.
Will you be out of work for a while?

Thoracic strain is usually associated with the back...not the neck.

Anywho...if you didnt get any good drugs from the doc, go back and get some. And dont be one of these tough guys who refuses to put drugs in their bodies...pain is no fun and it makes you no tougher to suffer through it!

Fly out to central PA. My fiance is a chiropractor in a rehab facility where they have a full chiro, PT, and massage therapy staff. They also have Hydroworx pools (the ones they rehabed T.O. in, was invented by her boss). She'd have you fixed up in no time at all, and we could smoke some nice cigars while you're out here! Insurance companies cover airfare right???

Sorry to hear Matty... i get that pain once in a while. Try some ice packs on the area, 20 min, then every 2 hrs repeat. (to get the inflammation down). Maybe find a good massuese, get her to work the kinks out ;)

Ibuprofen every 6 hours should help for medication.

My consultation fee: $50 :p

The Thoracic Outlet is the portion between the ribcage and clavicle. Pain can be felt in the back, shoulder, arm or neck, depending on the type of damage. A strain is usaully associated with the Latisimus Dorsi or Trapezius muscles (upper back/neck). I have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome[,which, for me, causes numbness and cold tingling in my lower arms and ring/pinkey fingers when I work too long with my arms elevated (compressed vessels and nerves from previous shoulder injuries).

You are thinking of the Sciatic nerve which exits the spine around the lower lumbar / Sacral spine (can't remember exactly) and travels down the central buttocks and through the entire leg.

Sciatic Nerve and sciatica

Sacral Spine

Sorry to hear about the injury, hope receovery goes well. Enjoy a few good smokes while you lay around relaxing your "boo-boo."

hope you get well soon Matty, i am a sufferer of back ailments myself, having fallen 20' onto concrete from some staging a few years back. Darvoset is some nice stuff, keep a few of the relaxers on reserve though, I still have some for those "bad" days of pain. The anti-inflam is probably a high dose of Ibuprofen (200mg or higher). anyhow, hope you get well soon. Rob

Take it easy, take the pills and I hope you get to feeling better. Back and Neck pain sucks, especially if you let it get out of control.

I am gonna smoke a Padron annie that someone gave me to celebrate with..this seems like as good as any celebration!!!

I have 500 mg of Naprosyn starring at me..so things should get better shortly...just no scotch for me tonight

Did I miss a post saying how you hurt your back or suffered the thorasic sprain? I know that it has already been mentioned but that does not include the neck...if it did it would be a cervical sprain. The thrasic part of one's body is the trunk for the most part...the thorasic cavity is protected by the rib cage. Just something I picked up while on the FD.

I do hope you are feeling better and do not be surprized if the healing takes a while. It will give you some time to enjoy that humidor of yours.
