Forgive me if this is addressed here somewhere I haven’t seen it. I have a couple Govee H5074’s and apparently I’m only connected via Bluetooth. They update when I’m home but don’t connect when I’m remote. I have the app which I thought was all that was needed. Apparently from looking at the app I need a gateway. The only ones I see online come with a different model hygro. Is there a gateway that my 5074’s will connect with?

Upon further review the 5074 is Bluetooth only which explains the cheap price. I guess a $24 education about anything cigar-related isn’t bad. Time to upgrade.

I switched to these a little while back. You can use a hub or in my case I run Home Assistant (I'm geeky that way) and tied them into my other home automation stuff. I already had other Zigbee devices so I didn't need an extra hub. I'm very happy with them so far, and you can get them on sale for only $14. They use standard AA batteries that will last for a couple years!

I dont know what kind of setup you have but I have the ones that have a readout and I can just see them through the door.

The only time I use the app is when I want to look at the trends over time or calibrate them.

Wineadors are incredibly consistent and I never really worry about it.

Is this the Gateway I would need with those sensors George?
I have always used SensorPush and have been happy with Bluetooth only when I'm home, but for those prices. 😎

There are a number of ways to interface with them, all the options are in the description, and you may already have a device in your home that would work. That hub would probably work fine, but I personally would stick with the same brand as I have had very good luck with their products so far: ThirdReality HUB

In my setup I have a Zigbee USB dongle connected to my
Home Assistant server. My home goal is no reliance on any cloud services, all my devices are under local control only. I operate and monitor a lot of local sensors and devices in my home, I don't like being dependent on third party systems, and I like my privacy. That's just me.

If you like to have a display, they also make a larger version of the same sensor with a display. I don't see mine so I went with the battery saving version with no display.

I also switch to a Sistema container for my dry box. I used to use my first desktop humidor, but got tired of constantly having to maintain the humidity.
