Just finished reading "The Drunken Botanist". If you have any interest in where your hooch comes from, it is a must read. It's all written from the plant side of where our drinks come from (she covers 120 plants) and shattered many of the misconceptions I had about different beverages. She draws from archeology, history, science, and the brewers and distillers themselves. It is dotted with recipes and back stories, but it is informative enough to remain entertaining throughout. Anyhow, I was impressed and entertained so I thought I'd pass it on.
