Hey guys,
Just to make sure you temper your guesses correctly, it should also be stated that I (at this point) haven't smoked a cigar in about a week and a half. Depending on when the baby arrive I may be 'on the wagon' for a month by the time the baby pops out!
The short reason is that my wife hates how I smell after a stogie, so I'm keeping myself smelling like petunias to avoid some of the nasty comments that might occur when her head starts spinning around while submerged in the throes of labor. Excorcist anyone?

10 hours. You'll catch your first cigar after your wife tells you to go home, pull your shit together, and come back in the morning. I'd say 9, but you'll need an hour to make some more of those hand trembling phone calls to relatives. Go for something a little milder. A Monte #2 would suffice.

Update......
Theresa (my wife, so to speak) drove to from Ohio to Ct. and picked up her mother and arrived at Ann and Robs house in Mass. Friday. Theresa dropped her mother off this morning and got back home here to Ohio a few hours ago...........I may have to claim the sanity smoke after hearing about the "in car" time between my wife and her mother :0
This contest could go on for a while as Rob is busy with bay Bella and may not have that smoke for a while.

Hey guys,
Well, I gotta tell ya, this parenting thing (not _real_ parenting as much as I handle the output, my wife, the input) is pretty freakin' awesome.
The baby's doing perfect, and everything's great.
Reading over Jeff's contest rules he specifically stated that this is to be a 'sanity smoke' but I can see how it can be easily interpreted as 'when will Rob smoke his first cigar' as well.
That being said, I smoked a GOF in honor of the baby's birth on Wednesday around 7pm. That would be 3 days 19 hours from the birth.
But really, the stress didn't set in until after all the parents stopped by to spend time with the baby. They are wonderful people, with great intentions, but man, they can be a real pain sometimes.
I got to smoking that 'stress relief smoke' last night, which would be at the 11 day marker. I started with a St Louis Rey from '01 that I'd wanted to try. I fought with it for a bit, but the fugger was plugged. I snipped it in half, and it got marginally better, but eventually let it go.
I proceeded on to a DPG blue, and shit, that thing was plugged too! Oh, did I mention the RP Vintage second was plugged as well? I guess that's why it was a second.. To various degrees each of these smokes caused more stress than they relieved. Not one to give up, around midnight I went inside and grabbed a Hemingway Signature and smoked that fugger to the nub. Now THAT was the smoke I wanted in the first place!
Since the rules leave room for debate and confusion I'm going to declare two winners.
H311oLHD guessed 1 week, 2 days, 2 hrs, taking the cake for last nights marathon of plugged smokes and crappy movies! :laugh:
Tasman guessed 3 days 11 hours, taking the cake for my celebratory GOF! Oh, and the boobies swayed me too.
Great job on the guesses, and Jeff, thanks so much for the contest! It was a blast from this end, that's for sure!
