How much does ammo cost a civilian? I know what the government pays since I'm the one that orders all of our 7.62 and .50 cal... Just curious what the average JoeSchmo would pay...

Excluding match grade, anywhere from $3-5 per round. For example, American Eagle XM33C (660gr FMJ) runs about $4.70, Argentina Mill. surplus (berdan primed) 706 gr AP runs about $3.
 
Not much call to do 500 yards anymore but there is a 300 yard range within walking distance from my house. You'd lose.

Damn... Costs me, roughly, 0.33 cents per .50 cal round. I'm not sure the quality or accuracy but we're not going for dead aim with the XM-218. More of a spray and pray from a helicopter, if you know what I mean.
 
$33 bucks a can? Not to bad today but a far cry from the $5 that it was when I started.

Speaking of prairie dogs! I just finished loading up 350 rnd of .22-250 for some dog hunting. Also finished up a 100 rnds of .270 WSM for antelope this fall!! :thumbs:

No need in doing a competition in such close quarters fellas. Come to TX and we will use my friends 1000 yard range. We might even get our 1600 yard range finished in time.
