Habeas Punkus
I picked up a couple of Gurkha cigars (celo & cedar wrapped) at my local b&m on my way out of town on Thursday. I generally like the Gurkha line and decided it would be as good as anything to take with me. On both cigars I had an exceptionally tough time keeping the wrapper burning down with the rest of the cigar. I am a newbie here but by no means a new cigar smoker. The wrapper just simply would not keep burning with the rest of the cigar - it would evenly quit burning all the time. The cigar was lit well but just did not ride out correctly.
The cigars smelled of fresh tobacco when unwrapped - almost as fragrant as a pack of Red Man. The draw was fine. The smoke was fine but the wrapper was trouble.
My question is this: Do you think the b&m humidor at the b&m is overly humidified resulting in some saturation of the wrapper or do you think these cigars had something wrong from the outset?
