After having smoked two Padrons, both of which were box pressed, I was kind of confused about how they box press these? Is it that they roll a cigar and press them by hand or machine, so if the are pressed by machine they are still rolled by a person.

Sorry if this has been covered before, I searched.

Thanks,
Martin

Box pressing is when young cigars are tightly packaged in boxes, this gives them a slight press.

Another method of acheiving the 'box press' is called trunk pressing. This method is when young cigars are placed in molds prior to being boxed in order to give the cigars their square appearance.

...and I thought the virgin's had square b**bs!

In the beginning of box pressing cigar making, it was done to hide the inperfections of rolled cigars, as was told to me. I believe Perdomo was the first to use this practice.
