The social event of the year! I'll raise my glass today to the men and women who I am so proud to have been associated with.

God bless 'em all, especially the 638 who didn't come home with me and the 15 killed in Lebanon in 1983.

Semper Gumby!

Doc.

The Marine Wives motto? I didn't know the Hospital Corps used that too.

Semper Gumby.
An unofficial motto of the Marines in a mixed Latin/cartoon dialect meaning “always flexible” during the Viet Nam era.

From the Unoficial Dictonary for Marines.

Different bases, different places. I always heard it was the wives motto although only Wiki agrees with me. Seems that Semper Gumby is used and claimed by a myriad of people.

I've heard it tossed around mostly by the wives/parents. But, as Ray said, I guess it varies.

Felicidades Doc; I'll raise one for 'em all for ya.

Hi, Doc! I wish the USN Hospital Corps a very Happy 110th Birthday! We sincerely appreciate the many years of faithful service to our nation. Regards, knightlaird

Corpsmen are the lifeblood of the Submarine Force as well, Doc. Many's the time when an HM did as much as an MD would have, and saved a life. Seen me a couple of shipmates given the hug me, love me jacket and a chemical vacation till we could evac em. Happy anniversary, Corpsmen!

Thanks for what all you Corpsmen out there have done for this country, Doc. Tell all your HM buddies that I'm proud to serve right along with them whenever needed.

BTW....we use Semper Gumby all the time out here. You kinda have to be flexible in order to get stuff done how it needs to.....
