Happy Dynamic Range Day

So, this will be the day when we all head down to the "retro music" store and listen to quality music.

Edit: spelling

Never thought the Bon Iver album was sonicly that good...very good music, but doesn't wow me with it's sound.

Back in the days of 'direct-to-disc' vinyl, there were quite a few that had that jaw dropping sound when we played them through a quality stereo system. Can't say that about any CDs I've bought since. One album that always stood out in that manner was Supertramps "Breakfast in America"...the music was so-so at best...but that recording in a Master Series vinyl disc...WOW! Those albums were so beefy that they weighed as much as an old 78!

I've got the UHQR of Crime of the Century and a Japanese half speed master of Breakfast along with about 100 others and a good 20 or so direct to disks. The house sounds GOOD every once in a while :)
