Hey guys... long time! I see all is well here on CP... great!

Not that I've been a member of this forum for long, but for the past few months I've been completely inactive (both in the online cigar world and smoking as well). But now, as I acclimate to law school and my personal/independent studies, I have more time relax and enjoy. I'm happy to say my Hydra (with three circulation fans) held up perfectly over the last few months and I have some beauties waiting in my humidor to enjoy. On that note, seeing as to how I'm purchasing cigars again (yea, like I really need anymore haha), I was curious if I could be given a quick and dirty update on what new super premiums I must try. To give you an idea of what I'm looking for, here is my list thus far:

1. Ashton ESG (Heard great things about this stogie!)
2. Cohiba Maduro (Have one, waiting to smoke!)
3. Tatuaje Black (Should be acquired soon)
4. CAO Maduro 10th Anniversary (Hopefully will win this auction)
5. Padron Millennium (Have one, waiting to smoke!)
6. Don Carlos Anniversary (Have one, waiting to smoke!)

Anything else pop up recently that would fit this list?

DISCLAMER: This is not a "Please send me my wish list cigars" mooch attempt! All I want are opinions. :)

Good to be back and thanks in advance for your input,
Daniel

Some more awesome limited edition smokes are:

Alec Bradley Tempus Majestri
El Triunfador Lancero
Oliva Series V Maduro (Haven't tried it yet, but soon will)
Tatuaje Frankenstein

I've had 3 of the 4 and have been thoroughly impressed thus far.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Petes come out with another cigar? Wow I'm behind!

PS - the Series V natural I had was fantastic!

x2 on the Tat Frank. That's one I hope to be able to get my hands on at some point, they are big boys! The Tat Black is great, smoke it up once you get it ;)

Are these Tat Franks any different then his other lines? Though I'm sure I could get my hands on them, I'm hesitant to even bother. My taste buds aren't that sensitive and I wonder if I'll really enjoy it (versus his other lines) enough to be worth the expenditure.

When I smoked it I got flavors full of earth and spice. Retail is only $13, granted you can still find them. Most retailers were sold out before they even had the stock shipped to them. Though the Frank seemed one dimensional, and didn't change much...it was still a great smoke. Pete Johnson also makes the El Triunfadors, which have a connecticut broadleaf wrapper, just like the La Riquezas.

Granted Pete has a stash he's willing to part with I'm sure I could get a stick, but with limited resources to spend it doesn't seem like I should take one less tat black to have one more of the same. I'm curious what Pete has to say about these.

I haven't had the Frank, but I can say the V-Maduro is awesome.

Where are attending law school?

Dennis

Yea I've eying that maduro now.

Loyola Law School, over in Down Town Los Angeles.

Daniel

I know it. I grew up in OC, but am in law school in Cleveland at Case Western now. You a 1L?

BTW, Outlining is hell.

I am a 2L and I think it is better. A little more work, but less stressful since you know what to expect.

Sorry, my fault. You might also want to look into Don Pepin My Father. I have hear great things. I haven't tried it, but have two on the way.

Dennis

Edit because I can't spell my name

I'll second getting a Don Pepin My Father. I had two of these this weekend. My local shop keeper recomended them after I asked for an Illusion and he was out. They are fantastic. Highly reccomended. In fact I like them better than the VSG.
