Hey NorCal, a friend of mine once told me that he won't drink any wine from a company who's too cheap to put threads on the bottle.

What should I tell him?

LOL! smart guy in many ways. There are a number of wineries that are moving away from cork and towards screw caps. Check out Bonny Doon winery for one example, they are moving quite a bit, if not all, of their wines to screw cap. Also, many of the NZ premium wines are moving in that direction as well. Interesting, but I don't have any screw cap wines in my cellar. Now synthetic cork is another story

Welcome to CP, NorCal!

It might be time to start thinking about a Northern California CP herf for 2005! We might be able to get a few SoCal guys to visit too....

I know that Gun, I was just playin' off (more like, stealing) your joke. :)

Welcome to CP

I look forward to discussing wine with you sometime, something I have been getting into over the last couple years, slowly of course

Welcome to CP from the only (I think) member located in the Tater State. I moved to Idaho from San Jose 10 years ago. I worked for Lockheed in Sunnyvale and Palo Alto for eight years....

...I am sooooo glad I escaped that place, but I still like to visit once or twice a year.

I've lived in San Jose all my life and still love it! :D

A HERF? not sure what it is but it sounds like an offline to me. If so, I've got some awesome cigar wines that all of you would probably enjoy.
