I just did an online search for 'cigar forum' and this was the first one that popped up, so I thought I'd join and gain some knowledge/make some new friends!

My name is Jeff and I live outside of Madison, WI. My father got me into cigars about 14 months ago and I've been growing to love and appreciate great cigars. In all honesty, I've probably spent more time with my father in the past year or so smoking cigars, then the past few years doing anything else.

I THOUGHT I was buying a box of Cohiba Esplendido's a couple of months ago and found out they were fakes........that really pissed me off. More so that I didn't do the research prior to buying them, like I do on any large purchase.

I've been researching online what Cuban cigars sell for, comparing prices at various sites, along with shipping methods to the U.S. Basically, I'd like some recommendations for online sites that ship AUTHENTIC Cuban cigars. They all say they do, but I've seen some rather large price swings for the same cigar, from site to site. I really don't want to get burned again and am just looking for a reputable site that I can buy amazing cigars from on a monthly basis.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, and I look forward to becoming more familiar with this site!

Jeff

Not a very good way to start here at CP. You posted your introduction in the wrong place and your asking for cuban cigar sources which is a big no-no. Read the rules and enjoy your stay here at CP.

Of all the sites I have in my 'favorites', the following site is by far the cheapest. That worries me... Has anyone had any experience with this site? After searching through this forum, I found the links to cuban cigar sites that ship and already had a few of those in my 'favorites'.

Thanks in advance!

That is even a bigger mistake remove the link it is against the rules.

Welcome aboard Jeff. There is a reason CP came up first on your search for cigar forums, it is the absolute best. Spend some time here and get to know us and let us get to know you. Good things will eventually come. There are many great cigars mentioned in these pages that are legal to purchase and many great members here that work in or own their own shops. They are great sources and you are guaranteed not to get ripped off. Stick around, kick your feet up and light up a cigar and read, read, read.

Welcome Jeff! What Mo said ^

Your comment about spending quality time with your dad while smoking cigars touched a chord. I'm having some of my best moments with him just smoking and hanging out. Thanks bro'

Hey from Appleton!

How's Mad Town treating ya? Nice to see a fellow cheesehead on here. You'll find this site very informative, and entertaining...and everyone on here is class!

2X on the legal cigars. You'll come to find that Cuban's aren't all that. Don't get me wrong, there good, but there are many better sticks out there...No Cuban sticks made the top 5 of CA's rankings last year, and there was only 2 in the top 10.

I highly recommend Illusione, Casa Magna, and Onyx (for a cheap everyday smoke that was rated 94 a couple years ago). I also just had a Litto Gomez Chisel Puro today...very good indeed.

Welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcomings, everyone!

Handypilot, I've had quite a few Onyx and actually really enjoy them. I think I pay around $4/stick for them, too! Have you been to Madison lately? If so, DEFINITELY check out 'Drackenbergs' and 'The Tasting Room'. Those are my two spots to kick my feet up and enjoy a cigar or two! The Tasting Room is next to my office, so I'm in there a few times a week just to pick some up (lately, I'm on a La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero kick.....LOVE 'em)to enjoy when I get home.

Haven't been to Madison in a couple of years...took the kids to the zoo, and hung out on state street. I'll have to check out the establishments next time I'm there. BTW, you can get a box of Onyx for $2-$3 a stick online. Here's a great reference I found for cigar PRICES. Not always up-to-date but gives you an idea...and some places have better return policies, so the price can be deceiving.
