This show was freakin' hilarious. I am not big on reality TV, but I do like to cook and thought this show would be interesting to watch.

If you watched it what did you think?

I thought it was So - So I will watch the next one but if I am not impressed it will be my last.

It looked like it would be worth watching, but I don't generally make a point of watching something unless it is either a sporting event or something of great interest to me (like a documentary about a sporting event :) )

I caught it. Thought it was ok. Might give it another shot. Chef Ramsay obviously has an ego that is, as of yet, bigger than he has proven himself capable of upholding. My .02 is that he's got a "big fish in a small pond" mentality, receiving accolades for his culinary "merits" in a country which, let's face it, is not generally known for its fine cuisine/dining (i.e., the UK). Let's see how he fares here in the US before he starts dishing out his diatribes, though, I must admit, watching him give some of those idiots last night a good basting (no pun intended) was a good sight. On the whole however, it just smacks of gimmicky type of behavior, right down to making his customers wait two hours for an appetizer, to calling them "bimbos" and asking the host to escort them back to "plastic surgery" (no matter how on point he might have actually been).

Again, one more chance and we'll see.

Call me crazy, but I actually thought it was entertaining. I REALLY could have done without the bleep, bleep every 3 seconds. I understand why they did it, but perhaps the crazy Brit could just not talk like that for TV. It doesn't bother me, but its FOX not HBO.
Other than that, he reminds me Simon Cowell in the fact that he calls them as he sees them. I loved when he called the blond customers "bimbo's" and sent them back to plastic surgery! I thought I was going to die laughing. From someone who works in the customer service industry-that was priceless!!

I do however think the show will have to get rid of some of the temper tantrum feel of Ramsey's conversing with the contestants. That will get old VERY quickly if it hasn't already.

Hmmmm let me see British Culinary Chef wouldn't that be an oxymoron!

I watched the new episode at 8:00 central. Wasn't too bad.

Oh, this one has the makings for a great show, although they got rid of one of the stars right off (Dewberry was absolutely a riot!!!). And Chef Ramsey hated the haute cuisine, but liked the turkey tacos... C'mon....

The scenes were he was blasting customers was priceless... Telling the customers to go f*** themselves, especially the young 'uns that think they are important... Absolutely hilarious... And then they had to check to hear what they thought they heard - and Chef Ramsey told them again - "go f*** yourself!!!"

And the one goofy moron that was in the Maitre'd's face about him being more educated because he had a PhD in Music... I wanted to punch the dumba$$... But the reason for the confrontation is absolutely the funniest piece of TV I've ever seen - waiting so long for their order that they ordered carry out pizza to the restaurant!!! How friggen funny is that!!!

I'm in!!!

I have to say, that idiot who was saying he had a PhD in music from USC - even though it's a dam* fine school (any school that John Wayne went to and played ball for is forever golden in my book) - really got my blood boiling. Both the boxer and Marine in me really had a tough time tolerating it.

The same could be said for watching drama queen Frankenberry and his theatrics. Bailing on his team, even for a second? I mean, was there any doubt that he'd be fired? I almost thought he wouldn't be just for ratings purposes - he's such a drama queen that I thought Fox would keep him on just for future episodes. I was glad they didn't and that really made me set for future episodes - somehow it justified the show as something more than merely about ratings (think Trump keeping Omarosa on board for so long).

Anyway, it had many great moments. The pizza was priceless. Frenchy trying to keep a lid on the patrons from eating was laughable. And the 20-something jacka*s who thought he'd straighten out Chef Ramsay by saying it "didn't do anything for him by waiting 2 hours" really got what was coming to him.

Agreed - it looks like, for now anyway, I'm in on this one too. From the highlights on next week's show, looks like that one will be even better.

pretty funny actually...specially seeing the chef tell the customers where to go! i wasn;t that impressed with the show, reminds me of a that show "the resturant" with that mario dude in NYC last year or so.

I have to agree I am not a reality tv person but I think this show will be on the tivo list next week again

I am proud to say that I've never watched ANY "reality" TV shows. None. Nada. Not "Survivor"....none of 'em. Just contrived junk for the masses, IMHO. No dis to those that like 'em, but absolutely not my cup 'o joe....

Maybe they should call 'em "unreality" shows..... :D

My $00.02 - B.B.S.

I watched the 2nd episode as well. I think the show is getting good ratings and should be on for a while.

Dewberry is hilarious. He is such a tool. I am waiting for him to have a heart attack.

I missed this show. Caught a few episodes of the original UK version as well as the UK celebrity Hell's Kitchen and thought that the shows were hilarious. Gordon Ramsay is the king of unintentional humor. He is one of the original celebrity chefs in England and is very well known for his temper. He became a celebrity not because of his surlyness, but because of his cooking skills and running one of the best restaurants in London.

For those of you who think that the UK has nothing to offer foodwise, check out this article:

http://money.cnn.com/2005/04/29/pf/goodlif...rants/index.htm

Notice that Gordon's restaurant is listed at number 5 and how many top restaurants are located in the UK. London's always been a mecca for great restaurants because of the high concentration of old money and tradition for the epicurean lifestyle (at least for the rich and privileged). Anyways, I'm going to go and search the web for the first 2 episodes that I missed. Thanks for drawing my attention to this show.
