Which product would be best to keep my humidor good to go? I have a small 75 cigar size humi so thinking I should be able to keep 50 in it. Would go larger but im 20 and live in an apartment and its an expensive hobby haha.

Please and thank you =D

Search is your friend. But in a nut shell check out heartfelt beads. If that makes no sense and your google-fu is weak, try the search function.

The Heartfelt beads are a popular choice in here..........I might make the switch down the road, but for now you can get XIKAR crystals and solution for $25.00 that would last you well over a year with a small humidor.

Temperature control is very vital. The ideal temperature for a humidor is 65 - 70 degrees, You look for humidors that can maintain this temperature.

....or you can do it right the first time!

A half pound of Heartfelt beads are $18.14 + shipping. You only need to use distilled water for the life of the beads. Buy a fresh bottle of distilled water as needed...less than $1.50.

I looked through your humidors... I don't see any that can maintain temperature. Another thing - if you want to promote your site all over this forum, your best bet would be to post an intro (maybe you have... search is busted as usual, but I can't seem to find one from you) and keep all your business related posting in the Vendor forum, not throwing a link to your site in every damn thread you can.

Beads are the best.

Another option is to see if you're local B&M has any extra Humi-Paks they would give you.

Make sure it's a B&M you BUY from!

A couple or 4 of those will last a while(for the short term)...but beads will last longer!

Not an avid buyer from my local shop, they charge a leg & arm.

I went with the beads but I am not sold on them. I have them in the tubes and have several issues of them. I get little chips of the beads leaking out of the tube quite often. I also struggle to keep the humidity 65+. Admittedly, this may be due to not having enough beads but I am not sure. I have 3 tubes of 65% for a 100 cigar humidor with less than 20 sticks in it. I do not go into it much at all, especially with it being winter. So it is not like my humidity is escaping.

So between the bead chips and inadequate humidity, I am not very high on the beads. OP take that FWIW I guess.

In regards to your beads chipping, it will happen. What is your method of recharging the beads? Recommended method is to mist them with a spray bottle. If you are pouring water into it, I believe it will cause the beads to crack quicker. Even if you have chipped beads they will still hold humidity so there is nothing to worry about unless you just don't like the mess. I am not sure where you are located but your humidity will fluctuate with the passing seasons. If you live in a colder climate it is to my understanding that rh will drop. Check your seal on the humidor and make sure you seasoned it correctly. Increasing the number of cigars will help. If we are talking a couple % fluctuation then everything is fine and don't worry about it.

As I said I have the tubes. So I bought the bottle that was recommended at the time. It was a small clear bottle with a cap with a tip on it. Oddly, I do not see these bottles on their website anymore. Now they are pushing syringes. Not sure if that means that the bottles were causing problems. I do live in a cold climate. I keep my humidor in my basement because the temperature is more consistent all year a round and it is never very hot in the summer.

The humidor was seasoned properly. I have had it over a year now and for a while it was working well. I probably need to get more beads. That will fix the humidity but I will still have the chipping issues.

Joebiech has a good point, "Check your seal on the humidor and make sure you seasoned it correctly."
Open the lid to your Humi and "drop it shut". If it "slams' you have a air leak.
You should hear a "swooshing sound" on the drop of air being forced out. A slamming sound "wood on wood" is a sign of a problem.

Not really sure about bottles and syringes. Just go out and buy a cheap spray bottle from a Target, Walmart, supermarket drug store. You can always try the dollar bill test on the seal. Good luck

I will try this.

What is the dollar bill test? I remember hearing about it but I am not sure what you do. Is the flashlight test a legit test as well?

If you close the lid of the humidor on a dollar bill, and you are able to remove said bill withoit lifting the lid or tearing the bill, you have a poor seal. If the seal is good, you have one less dollar. It's been many years since Canada has had a bill less than a $5. Too expensive for a test for me :)

Edit to add: I have experienced the bead chipping as mentioned before. I too have the fine tip squeeze bottle and not the syringe offered now. I personally didn't mind the little pieces, except for when I was reorganizing my stock and thought the pieces were mold!

if you need some beads let me know I have some xtras hanging around, and don't mind sending you some for free..

Let me know...

This man is a saint! I will let the OP get on this first, since I hijacked his thread. You have 24 hours OP.
