hi everyone.. ive recently just joined this forum and im having a great time reading through all your threads. There are just soooo many brands out there and people rave about so many that i dont even know where to really start. i was wondering if someone can tell me where i can buy some big sampler packs ex. 8-12 cigars to start my collection with my new humidor. eventually i'd like to buy a box of one that i like so i can smoke them as my regulars. (usually during rounds of golf) . i think i like stuff that tastes good and isnt too strong. i really dont know what im looking for but i know i like the macanudo cafes, punch cigars, romeo julieta, siglo iv, etc (basically the only ones ive bought). and the ones ive tried before that i didnt like were like a teamo. any advice would be great!

Newbie Sampler Thread.

It's a great way to try a lot of different smokes, find out what you like, and oh yeah, it's a hell of a deal for sure!

Just PM the next FOG up (veteran on the forum), post there, and sort out a deal with him (send him a box of his favorites / send money)!

Good luck.

BTW - I did this so I know it's great! Also, Welcome to CP!
Personally, moderate priced cigars I like are certain types of Gurkha, Punch, and Arturo Fuentes (although those aren't necessarily moderately priced!).

The newbie sampler is a great way to experience some cigars that don't regularly show up in commercial samplers. The "likes" you list, are all across the flavor and strength spectrum, so you certainly have not decided on a specific cigar profile yet. If you are looking for "instant gratification" (same day shipping) most of the online retailers have sampler packs that will meet your needs. Stay away from the Isom's until you have more experience as a smoker and have developed your palette. Otherwise, they are just an expensive nicotine bomb. (It is not recommended that inexperienced isom smokers operate machinery such as a golf cart until they know how the drug will affect them) :0

On a side note. People on this site generally use proper writing techniques, such as capital letters, punctuation and such. It is looked upon as showing respect both for yourself and the readers of your post. You will find many more FOGs and even newbs will step up to help you is you take the time to capitalize your "I"s and not use abbreviations. Unlike a chat room, there is plenty of time to type posts in a forum. Just notice as you're reading through the older posts, how many of them have been edited to correct spelling or grammar. 99% of us will never meet in person. Who and what we are can only be deduced by what we type.

I'd suggest the Newbie Sampler if it hadn't been suggested yet.

Thank you for your suggestions. I've read through the Newbie Sampler thread and it looks perfect for someone like me. I will continue my search over there and attempt to find a suitable trade for me. :D

You are right Mmburtch! I just noticed that most of the posts here are actually well written with the use of punctuations, proper spelling, etc. I belong to many different types of forums for a number of years and this is the first time that I've used this many capital letters. However, I do agree it does generally make the threads nicer and easier to read.

What are "Isom's" ?

Welcome to CP. There is a lot more to this site than just the forum. Be sure to check out http://www.cigarpass.com for more information on cigars. You can find terms, general info, etc there.

Enjoy your stay!
