Both were recently purchased (like today :whistling: ) at the local B&M.

who get's it first?

Partagas Black Label Piramide
or
Ashton VSG Corona Gorda

the wife is away for a few days so I'm taking the opportunity to sit out on the patio with no interruptions!

I'd try the Partagas today and the VSG tomorrow. Hope you enjoy!

I agree. That way you'll appreciate the VSG even more since you'll have the experience with the Partagas fresh in your mind. ;)

Choose the Partagas for when you'll have the time. It's a much longer smoke than that VSG.

Like the others, I don't think it's a fair match. I'd smoke the VSG 2nd, because you always save the main event for the end :)

Smoked the Partagas and while as a newb I surely have an unrefined palate I did really enjoy it!

sat out on the patio with some coffee and watched the traffic and clouds role on by. what I have smoked previously so far was not very flavorful and left a harsh after taste almost from the begining. It wasn't so with the Partagas. I finally had to put it down with about 2 inches left but I really liked it up until then. Other then the fact that I could not get it to burn evenly I was impressed with this smoke.

I definitely will add another one or two to my humi.

Am looking forward now to the VSG!

You'll enjoy the VSG. I smoked one about a month ago and it was full of flavor, really enjoyable.

Not sure what that has to do with it - after all, you've been practicing with your tastebuds since you were 2. The rest is just cognition and organization; your tastes may vary, but that doesn't mean that you can't appreciate a nice stick. And the Partagas Black is a very nice stick.

Well I did smoke the VSG and to be honest, did not like it very much. Pretty harsh to me and way to much pepper. I was hoping I would really enjoy this stick because I can get it pretty reasonably locally compared to what I've seen them sell for online.

EDIT:

For the VSG whores, if you're finding them hard to find and want me to grab some for you I would happy to do so.

Okay now buy another one and put it in your humidor for safe keeping. One year from know if your still smoking, light it up and tell me how it was for you. You'll be surprised at how much the cigar can change for you it that time frame.

2X this is good advice. I wish I did this with stronger peppery cigars when i started out, I'd be much happier today! That is just for me though, as I smoked more, I learned I liked more robust flavors and the pepper taste.
