-Nice, dark wrapper w/ no veins
-Well rolled and smelled spicey
-Clipped clean and had a nice draw, pre-light

-Easy ignition, although those funny tapered tips are just strange, IMHO
-Immediate peppery taste w/ definite milk chocolate (not cocoa) undertones, and a hint of maraschino cherry

-Ash held well and fell off at about 1.5 inches. Grey in color.
-Plenty of smoke throughout

This was a great smoke and if they weren't so hard to come by I'd buy a bunch. Depending on how fast the Classic Sun Grown was smoked, you could control the spiciness, which I really enjoyed.

A complex smoke for sure. I give it a 91-92 and put it in the elite company of the Padron 1926 #9, The Monte ISOM #2, and the Perdomo Edicion de Silvio.

mmmmmmmmmm. Got some 858 Sungrowns comming. Maybe they will be half that good. :D :D

Supposedly, you're supposed to keep this cigar for a while -- should "peak" in another year or two. But out on my ski trip here in Colorado, I decided to spark one up anyway -- it was a damn nice stick, though I could see how a little more age would take the bite off of it.

The sad thing is, I left it about 1/4 burned on the porch, went inside to get a beer, and the wind swept it away, dropping it down to the pavement below. The cigar did not survive the impact. It was like a gory car crash scene, cracked wrapper, stick bent in an unnatural way... sigh.

But yeah, these are great smokes, I agree.

Actually, I got it wrong, we're in Aspen, no Vail. I didn't even really know where we were going until Kevin picked me up at the airport. heh.
