would you guys rather smoke alone or with friends?
i personally like smoking with friends, conversation, company, and it just feels better.

i have no botl's around me :(

or well i do know some but i can't just get up and go out just to smoke a few, the gf needs me close by to help with my 3month old son.

but even when im able to go out and smoke else where the 2 botl's usually have stuff to do since they have families themselves.

i just wanted to tell everyone what makes me sad about this hobby, no one else does it.

or no one else i know of
 
dude, I was pondering the same thing the other day...I think I much prefer to smoke with friends, even if he or she does not smoke cigars. I think I'm to save my "nice" smokes for occasions when I'm with friends.
 
yea man, i mean even if they dont smoke with me it's cool.
like when my cousin came down from oregon, he smoked cigarettes and i smoked cigars, but it was still cool ya know?

or even if he didn't smoke, i still had someone to chill with.

I'll share a little story from the RTDA this year. The last day of the show and we worked our asses off. I had planned on meeting up with Moki and having a drink. My boss decieded that he wanted to take us to get something to eat. Well we end up a nice mexican place off the strip. My boss being the guy he is wants to smoke a cigar. Now I want to get the fuck out of there because I really wanted to have a little scotch with a guy that I've had some pretty nice dealings with over the last year and just get a little decompression time away from work(yes I know it's Las Vegas but 4 days with you boss and no CP access and well you get the idea). He fires up a cigar that is going to take at least an hour to smoke. I'm pissed but I light up anyway. We finally leave and get back to the room. I try to call our good buddy Andrew but for some reason the number I dial redirects me to another number. I call that number and no one answers. So I think well I'm shit out of luck and I had told N2adventure that I would call and maybe hook up with him and get a drink. It's late and I know he had a long show so I deceide not to bother him. I go down to the casino florr where I run into my Altadis rep. I talk to him for a little bit and my good friend Garrett from Davidoff stops me and tells me to come up to TAO where they are having an after party and he will buy me a drink. Well, I go back up to the room and collect a little gift that a friend our our lovely board sent me. A cuban Davidoff. I head back up to TAO and I had changed out of my work clothes into an Outlaw t-shirt and a pair of shorts. Yeah, you guessed it, dress code! Fuck, I'm shit out of luck. I don't have Garretts cell phone number so no drink. I can't bring myself to sit in a bar a smoke a great cigar like this by myself. I walked the strip for the better part of an hour before I finally lit up. I stood on the alcove at the Venetian looking out toward the Mirage and smoked one of the best cigars I've ever had all by myself. Would I have enjoyed some company, without question. Did I enjoy myself, hell yes! The point to my story is sometimes the best cigars are the ones you smoke by yourself! I never knock an opportunity to smoke a cigar even if I don't have someone to enjoy it with. Life is to short to wait for the right time to smoke that certain cigar, there are just too many great cigars and time is the thing you are wasting!

I've never been much of a loner, infact I still hate having to eat a meal by myself in a restaurant. But I've learned to really enjoy my alone time while enjoying a great cigar. Infact, I just finished a nice 2 hour smoke by myself in the backyard. I still enjoy lighting up when we have a bunch of friends over for a party but at least once a week, I enjoy my alone time with a great cigar, good blues on the stereo and a good drink. Ahhhhhhh...... decompression at its finest.

makapu'u? well, some days are better than others, and since it's right by sea life park, alot of tourist or even locals pass by it.

everytime i've been to makapu'u i've always seen tourist, some days better than others though. so i guess to answer your question, yes and no. lol

have you been to waimea? it's like on the opposite end but current wise, the waves will hand your ass to you. lol
 
Well, out here, we literally have a herf with 5-8 participants every night at 1900.

It's impossible to head out to the cigar patio and not smoke with at least a couple other BOTLs, so that's great.

But I do very much enjoy my late night pipe alone just prior to sleep. Good times.

But overall for me it just doesn't matter, I'm smoking a cigar whether or not anyone is going to be there with me, and I enjoy it every bit as much.
 
When I was home on R&R I really enjoyed the morning cup of joe out on the back porch smoking a nice cigar.....watching the world wake up. :) Really Nice......

Following up to what BRICK said, it's really nice to have a bunch of BOTLs around and know there's always someone out there every night at 1900 (7pm). I'll probably miss that when we all get back to the world.

i think im on the fench with this one....I usually smoke alone, it lets me concentrate on the cigar, which means im not thinking about anything else. It's relaxation at its best, for me. I do like to smoke with friends too though, but it's not the same. I can drive down to the b&m anytime i wanna smoke with somebody else...but most of the time id almost rather be by myself. I dunno...there is def. a place for both for me. id say that its almost a 10/1 for me...ten being smoking by myself to the one or two cigars a month i smoke with other botls....
 
Depends on the friend, if they have diarreaha of the mouth and they are ruining the the mood, they ruin the cigar. The blues is something to be respected.
 
I've always enjoyed a smoke with good friends, but the usual around here is the last event of the day is a cigar, by myself (and four little dogs), outside, with a beverage in hand. My wife usually has to be up at 0400 for work so she's most often in bed before I am.

It's a nice, quiet time to reflect on the day, focus on and enjoy the smoke, and decompress in preperation for another day tomorrow.

Which do I enjoy the most...?? Have to call that one "50 / 50".

I'm with you bro, 50/50 here as well. There is something very relaxing about sitting on the deck with a libation (and my dog Buster as well).

We spend 90% of time around other people, whether at work, in traffic in the store, even with a spouse. It's nice to have some "me time" to chill.

ya know, now that i've come to think of it, i really do concentrate on the cigar more, if i think back. all the cigars i smoked with friends ended up tasting the same because i can remember little to none of how it tasted like.
 
I do like smoking alone quite a bit myself, lazing on the deck with a drink and just looking out at nature, but also wish I had the opportunity to burn a stick with some botls every now and then.
 
I enjoy both. My neighbors don't really care for cigars, so most of the time I do end up smoking by myself. But that is good. I think you need some alone time. It gives you a chance to reflect on things and just relax. Actually, I'm never alone-it seems there is always a dog nearby. can't say that I really have a preference though.

Yes I have been to Waimea and have been lucky enough to see it in the wintertime! I wouldn't dare go into the water...well I did go in just to Pee :p. It was in '92, the waves were just huge! Sunset beach is also another beauty... just gorgeous :love: .
