I was tired of having Schwan's ice cream that had been thawed and refrozen somewhere in the delivery system. Too many soggy cones too. I told them to cease stopping by the other day.

Besides my recipe is better although hard on the wallet.

3 cups whole milk
3 cups half n half
6 cups whipping cream
3 cups sugar
2 tbls vanilla
3/4 tsp salt

Scold 3 cups of whole milk. Take off heat. Add 2 3/4 cups sugar, 3/4 tsp salt. and mix till dissolved.

Add 3 cups half and half, 6 cups Whipping cream, 2 TBSP vanilla.
Chill 2 hours and process per directions on ice cream maker.

Makes 1.2 gal
