How Far Do You Travel to Your Local Shop?

I am not looking to open up a discussion about whether or not patronize a local shop versus buying on the internet, becasue I know that topic has been covered.

But I am curious how far you do travel to your local shop or are you willing to travel.

I know many people here have great relationships with their local shops, but how close are they to you that you can frequent them that often and how often do you go?

I am talking about the kind of shop where you can go, shop, relax and enjoy a cigar. Even if it is sitting in a couple of chairs at the front of the store near the register.

The closest places to me are literally 30-45 minutes without traffic.

Would kill for a place closer that I could frequent on short notice.

Just curious.......

I have a few that are 5-10 min from home. Only one has a lounge to smoke in that i have yet to use. But it also has the biggest humidor with better prices.but with MN taxes buying online is much cheaper.

There isn't a shop like that any closer to me than 1 1/2 hours away. :(

There's one decent B&M here, only about 10 minutes away. Unfortunately there isn't a lounge or anywhere to get a beverage. They also imposed a $10 minimum purchase recently. I haven't been in a while.

I work in Houston, 70 miles from my home. Luckly I pass right by a good B & M on my way home. Almost every week I stop on the way home from work on Fridays to enjoy a cigar and the camaraderie. If I worked in my hometown, I would have to drive 30 minutes to get to the B & M. I would still go, but it would not be often, maybe once a month.

Alot of the enjoyment I get from smoking cigars comes from sharing my experiences with others of like mind. I smoke by myself on the back porch alot, but I enjoy it more at the B & M with the guys.

Yesterday I found a place that's 10 minutes from my house. I don't know how I haven't seen it before. The owner is real nice, poker games during the week, and a front lounge with 8 recliners and a flat screen. This will be my home away from home.

My local B&M has a members' lounge and is about 5-10 minutes away. They're in their third location, but they've never been much further from me than that. Good people and good friends. Been a patron for eight, nine years now.

Other shops have come and gone. There's been at least three I've frequented in years past that have gone under here.

I still buy online, and here at CP. When I'm in SA I never miss a trip to the Finck's outlet store/lounge, and when I'm up in Austin I always try to make it to Heroes & Legacies, but I'm at Dave & Vi's Tobacco World here in CC nearly every Friday night.

I used to go 430 miles one way to my local cigar shop. Now my local shop is just a phone call away.

I'm fortunate and have 2 shops within 10 minutes of the house. There are also 2 other shops I frequent that are 10-15 minutes from the office. All of them have lounges. These four all have different selections and varying levels of customer service.

There are more shops around if I want to seek them out, but I'm happy with the selection I've found so far.

5 minutes from my work is the only one I actually spend any decent amount of time at. Usually on Friday's after work. Unless my boss keeps me working late.

There are 7 within about 20 min. from me.3 Corona locations, and 4 smaller places 2 with smoking on site.
I work at Corona on Fri.so Im there at least weekly lol.

20-25 minutes drive maybe? but no bar other than what you bring in - stealthfully. It's small, dark, gets pretty smokey, but its indoors and in the cold of winter that's all I care about!

It is 50 miles from me and I go every 2-3 weeks for a smoke.

I've got one about 7 minutes away, but they don't have much of a selection, and they don't take very good care of the cigars. I have a Tinder Box that's about 45 minutes away from me that I patronize and antagonize as often as I can!

There's a B&M here in WA state that's about 20 mins away. There's currently no smoking in WA State except at the Indian Casino's (don't get me started) and their prices would choke a strong man, so I don't spend much time there.

There's a store in OR that doesn't have a lounge that's about a 20 min diversion on the way home, and I do stop there once in a while.

As far as lounges go, there's one in OR not far from the PDX airport (~30 mins from my home) and one more or less on the way home from work, so until my smoking room is done, those are logical choices for an indoor smoke.

As far as willing to travel, I've been to "Smokey Joe's" in Fife WA for a smoke, and it's a two and a half hour drive. Met the Seattle guys there once; nice place. If it were closer, I'd go lots more often.

Bottom line for me is that I don't really have a single place where I can (1) buy a smoke and (2) enjoy it. You guys that do, are very lucky.....

Yeah some one at the MN Capitol was somewhat smart and make Tobacco Shop Exempt when they decide to make everything smoke free.

There is a shop here in Oxford with good selection but to smoke inside you have to pay ~$700 up frnt for a year, I don't smoke there. The next nearest place with a free smoking area is in Memphis but isabout 90 miles away. I have yet to smoke there because the bars allow smoking inside so I end up there.
