how long outside a humidor?

The worst part of a new humidor is the wait. I've bought a new (to me) humidor that I've been seasoning with Boveda starter packs and I still have a week to go. My current humidor is a Scottie jar that only holds 12 cigars and its mostly full.

I've been looking at placing an order with Cigarpage for the new humidor, and to try some new stuff, but i don't know how fast they ship. Realistically how long will an order be okay outside a humidor? I assume with the upcoming holiday I'm probably only looking at longer ship times and a wait of only a few days till they can go in the humidor, but would an order of 20-25 cigars be okay waiting that long after shipping?

CigarPage tends to ship slowly most of the time, (but not always) and they include Bovedas, so I'd go ahead and order and just throw them in a Ziploc with the Bovedas when they arrive.

Best to season it right and be patient, otherwise you'll have nothing but RH issues. While not everyone agrees with this method, I've always lightly wiped down the interior of my new humidors with a damp towel of distilled water. Helps the start-up process, but again, do what's right for you. Make sure it stabilizes before putting cigars in. Good luck!

Yeah I have wiped down boxes I bought for storage to jump start them.

As far as outside storage I dont see why throwing them in a zip lock w a bovida pack wouldn't work and as Bobby said da page ships w one. Maybe put a sheet or two of paper between the pack and the sticks so there isn't direct contact between them. If you get desperate a sistema container or similar is an option but then you will start filling that when the humidor gets full.

Its hard to beat bovida for smaller storage.
