How much is that cigar?

I like those bourbon dipped cheroots...Ramrods I think they're called! I'm seeking therapy for it. Not for the smoke, but for the fact that technically I have smoked a ramrod...Yuuuuuuuuuuum :)

Hey now,

Isn't suckin' on a Ramrod a little worse that lighting up the occasional Moonie? I think Stew should become the new focus of attention here. :whistling:

Wilkey

Na "Ramrod Forum" just doesn't sound right... :sign:

Hey dude, don't blameshift. That's addict behavior. We're here to discuss your flaws not mine!

P.S. I heard something about a Wilkey intervention so if you get a call to come have dinner at some hotel it's a setup!

Truth be told I like Eileen's dream, but only the little tiny cigars. AU REVOIR DIGNITY! ;)

You're asking a question that the answer is different to each individual. Whats funny is there are those that will discount an expensive cigar because of price just as there are those that will discount a cheap cigar because of price.

We've done blind taste test with high price and low price cigars many times and the conclusion drawn was that some people like vanilla and some like chocolate. Again, this has nothing to do with price except the vanilla one likes may cost $20 while the Choc someone else likes cost $2. It is what it is.

Anyone that buys their smokes based on pricing, weither it be high priced or low priced, limit their experience. IMO that would be like driving a goldwing on a shortrack....doable but no fun.

I got over the quantity vs quality thing a long time ago. I sat there looking at my 4 humis going wtf when am I going to smoke all these. Sadly I don’t smoke like I used too so it really had me wondering. Mind you the worst stick I had imo was a pardon 2000 which is pretty damn tasty so I didn’t do bad but why not buy less and better quality. That’s just me though. besides charging 4 humis worth of beads is a b*tch.

1. How much is a good cigar?
My everyday cigar is about $1.25, I consider them to be amazing and yes they are long filler premium tobacco.

2. How do I trade with someone who smokes $15, $20, and $25 stiks?
I rarely trade, I prefer just to give cigars to people that appreciate them.

3. Should I be embarassed that a good stik in my humi is $10 (and damn few)?
Dumb question IMO

4. How much was the best cigar you smoked? name?
Diamond Crown number 2, the wife bought it for me when we were dating, I told her I would smoke it after our first child was born, this cigar put me in another world for 2 hours.

5. How much was the most expensive cigar you smoked? name?
Can't remember, maybe $15-20

6. Am I cheap?
Being frugal is nothing to be ashamed of.

7. Are these stupid questions?
I'm not sure.

So I have a few qustions: :D

1. How much is a good cigar?
- What's good to you may be someone else's swill. Smoke what you like and what you can afford. I don't smoke everyday, but if I did it would be the Padron 2000, ~ $2.50/stick

2. How do I trade with someone who smokes $15, $20, and $25 stiks?
- I only trade when specifically asked for something that I know I have and can do. I don't really go looking for trades since my own collection pales in comparsion to many of the long time smokers.

3. Should I be embarassed that a good stik in my humi is $10 (and damn few)?
- No. I think there are many good cigars in every price range.

4. How much was the best cigar you smoked? name?
- Cohiba Siglo VI

5. How much was the most expensive cigar you smoked? name?
- Cohiba Siglo VI ~ $18 (I think -- it was a gift  )
6. Am I cheap?
- Nope

7. Are these stupid questions?
- There are no stupid questions, only stupid people. :sign:

This thread was just to get an idea of what you guys think. I am 56 years old and have smoked cigars on and off longer then most of you guys are alive. I will admit that I cannot descerne some of the so called flavors I read in cigar reviews, I have only a few categories of taste:

Bad
Good
Excellent
Out of this world

It has been my experience that the higher priced cigars dont taste any better and in some cases not as good as most cigars in the $7 to $12 range.

As far as my experience with ISOM's it was at the Atlantis in Paridise Island. The cheapest cigar was $16. They were real but they
were young. I cant truly say they were any better than anything else.

I can afford to drive a BMW but I choose to drive a Honda Accord. Maybe that says it all.

Thanks for your responses it was very enlightning.

Regards,
Paul
