Today in the mail i recieved to shipments of cigars. A 10 pack of Perdomo from JR and a 10 pack of Gurkhas from the Devil. The temp. outside was real hot, when i took the packages out of the boxes both packs were real hot. Do I freeze them or should they be ok? The last thing I need is beetles. Whats the opinion of the senior CP's?

....this is the exact reason that many guys refrain from making any major buys during the summer months.

If they were mine, I'd let the bags sit at room temp for a while then put them in the humidor.

Good luck - B.B.S.

It's a debatable subject, but I don't like freezing incoming cigars. Keep them quarantined for a month or two in a spare humidor. If you don't have a spare humidor at the moment, save the one you have now when (if) you ever get a larger humidor. As for now, if your inventory isn't that huge to worry about, I'd just stick them in along with the rest of them.

I agree with the last two posts, if you dont have a large enough humi check out the "making of a coolerdor" thread i have two going now for my bigger buys. Good luck

I had to...

IMO, do what has already been suggested; put them in your humidor at 65% for the same time period they were traveling and you are good to go.

Cigars travel all over the world. Provided they are not out of their required comfort zone for 3 weeks +, they will recover.

Hot hot was it outside? I don't buy anything during summer because of the heat. I would just keep an eye on these for now, at least a month or two, and don't buy again in the hot times.

The last box I bought I split with a few friends and when I received them the box and cigars were HOT. I put them in my humidor and did not smoke the first one until a few weeks and it was fine. My friends smoked their first one that night and both complained about the burn and taste.

You know, it gets pretty hot in Cuba, Central America, the Dominican and even Miami. The heat isn't going to kill them. Like many above have said, put them to rest for a few days and you'll be fine.
