Prize - some smokes.

Question:

Which magazine started Bill (conventrycat86) on his way to smoking cigars?

------------------------------------

Bill - you can't win your own contest!

blah blah blah...rules.

It's just a guess, but it's the one that started my addiction. Playboy.

Doc.

MAD Magazine the cat man does favor AEN.

I know I won so just send me those lame ass Phillie Blunts you always send me. If you really liked me you'd send the flavored ones.

Then in 1992, my wife at the time was a subscriber to Wine Spectator and they sent a complimentary Volume I, Number 1 issue of Cigar Aficionado to all Wine Spectator subscribers. I read the magazine, which I thought was really cool so I went to my local tobacconist and bought my first "premium" cigars, which I think were Macanudos and LGC's based on what cA said were their favorite Robustos in that first issue (and what they had in stock. That was the first time I was laughed at for asking for something called and "Opus xXx".

Wine Spectator

Wow - that was fast....and I almost strung it out to 1 post per hour...just to see what I could see!

Congratulations.

Ramrods will be on there way!

The story - Bill and I were chatting the other day and we talked about what started our 'hobby'.

It seems his ex, by default, received a copy of Cigar Afficionado...DUE TO her being a subscriber to Wine Spectator.
When they received the first 'free' copy of CA , Bill decide to try out some smoke....hmmmm, I wonder what the first smokes were or where they were aquired...alas, a contest for another day!

Mike - send me your addy.
