I've been watching several humidors on ebay, most of them from one particular seller. All I can say is look out if you buy humidors from this guy because he has at least two other accounts he uses to shill up the bids. What a scammer.

Posting something like this publicly is a serious allegation, and posting without a name is nearly pointless. Would PM me the item or seller you think is breaking the rules? I have some skill in this area.

I would rather buy from a trusted source and pay a couple bucks more than Ebay. Speaking of complete strangers though, I happen to have a pretty plain 150 count humidor with viper beads that I was about to sell. It isnt fancy, but it gets the jobs done. Pm me if you are interested

I and a number of other BOTL's on this board have bought several times from Cheap Humidors. While not a "craftsman" humidor, bang for the buck, they are tough to beat, and are reputable folks besides. With humidors like this one for $22.00 or the one I have for $46.00, I have to wonder why anyone would take a chance on someone unknown on the bay.....

FWIW - B.B.S.

Sad to say, but I've bought 4 humidors(100ct/100ct/150ct/300ct),2 cigar oasis,1 cigar caddy and 2 travel humi's all off of e bay and never had a single problem with any of them.

Wasy, I really think you should post what auctions they are doing this on. I know I cruise ebay alot (mostly to kill time) and so do others, and I think it'd be best if we knew who to watch out for... ;)

I'm not going to post the companies name or the shill, but if you look for a humidor and you look at the power sellers of humidors and you scan all his auctions in 9 out of 10 you will see the same bidder. then do a search of his completed auctions and you will again see that same account shilling those up as well.

When I was in search of a humidor, I bid on this guys. I think my bid was around $35 with 1 minute to go, then all of a sudden the bid jumped up to $60+ by somebody (forget the name). I remembered that name (with 1 feedback but a member for 3yrs) already won a humidor earlier in the night so I wrote the seller a pleasant email of what a scumbag he was and within a few minutes my phone rang. I picked up but no answer. Hung up the phone and it rang again. No answer, cursed him out, and hung up again. The phone rang again, I picked up, put on speaker and left it sit there while I was on the computer. I figured he is wasting his long distance. After roughly 30 minutes, I hung up and tried dialing out but I couldn't get a line. Then the phone rings again and guess who. I hang up and try dialing out again and no line. The phone rings again. By now I'm pretty pissed off because of the non sense and I need to use the phone. I ended up going to a friends to use the phone and I decided to call my house to try and break the line, which worked. Needless to say, I checked my ebay profile and removed my phone number. The phone problem never happened again and I never heard from the guy in an email response so I'm pretty sure it was from him. If I remember correctly, the guy is from New York. Anyway, enough rambling. I just figured you might enjoy that story (it's much funnier if I used the exact words which were said but).
