We've got our house on the market, and the wife mentioned i might wanna quit smoking in my man cave, it smells like cigars, which might turn off some potential buyers. I have a fan in the window, but i went to Lowes and bought the Hunter Quiet Flow 95 w/ the Hepa filter for about $75. Wow, what a immediate impact it had, no cigar smell at all, i'm astounded how well this thing works. Anyone else using them?

I have not used this one Frank, but I see replacement filters are like $50 +, how often do you think it will need to be changed...

Keep us updated

Frank, what is the noise factor? This would be great for me.A great way to smoke indoors without having a window fan sucking out the heat.

Gerard.

Thanks Frank, i was looking into something I could use in my studio and still smoke when it's bad outside. BTW - buy some premade rolls/loaves of bread and bake them just before someone comes to tour the home. Baking bread is a "magic" smell for homebuyers.

I don't really notice the noise, it's pretty quiet, and i think the filter lasts like 10 months, but not sure (seems like a long time). The filters will be expensive on any purifier, if you use Hepa, which i understand is by far the best filter.

I would be curious to how often the filters need to be replaced. I have been looking for one of these for a while, but the ones I have been looking at are all in the $300 -$400 price range and I have not been able to pull the trigger yet.

I would think they would all need to be changed on the same frequency, a hepa filter is a hepa filter, best i can see.

HELL no man! Gator, sounds like you've got a good buy, I may go and check that out at my local store here.

Question: So you smoke in the room with the purifier, leave, when you come back the next day, any trace of smoke?

Pretty much, but i also have a fan in the window pulling the smoke out. The room has carpet, so it's a matter of time before the carpet smells like smoke, so thinking about swapping out the carpet for wood floors.

I'll add my 00.02

I also use an air purifier/window exhaust fan combo. While I am smoking, I put the exhaust fans in my window and turn them on and my purifier off. At first I would run the purifier the whole time but it really didn't do much against the onslaught of a smoking cigar. I realized it was better suited to cleaning the air once I was done. So when I am finished I switch one of the window fans (it's a dual fan set up) to intake for a few minutes to help flush the room out a bit. Then I pull the fans out and close the window again and turn the purifier back on. I have been doing this for several months and it is working well. Plus, I am sure I will get more life out of the filters...

I also have carpet in my smoking room and I agree Gator, it has to go. If I had bare floors instead it would make the smell of smoke almost undetectable.
