I almost did it!

I am not a bucket list guy but there is one thing I have always wanted to do before it's too late. I want to shoot my age in golf.

I have started to find a swing again and two weeks ago I shot 2 over on the front and was three under on the back through 14, I stuck a nine iron to eight feet on 15 and thought "if I make this I am two under par and could shoot 69 if I par out". Of course I missed the putt and shot 70.

But in a few weeks I will turn 70 and it's coming! When I do this I will smoke the best cigar I have, get shit-faced, and tell everyone I know!

I've never played golf with John but I would really like to because I would like to beat him at something! He knows more about cigars than I do, he is a better Chef than I am, but now that I think about it, that's probably where it ends.

That 'significant decimal' milestone for me is a few months over a year from now. Our plans are strangely identical...

Golf is the only 'bad habit' I've never picked up. Sure as hell covered the rest of them....

3 years ago when my neck and back problems started I had to face the possibility of never playing golf again. While it was difficult to think of not playing golf ever again, the harder part was losing the camaraderie and fun that comes along with the game.
